THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!

For anyone wondering, it took 179 blocks, 5 bags of all purpose sand, and a boatload of patience because my backyard is almost entirely rock. If you've attempted a retaining wall or similar project, you know what a MEGA-HASSLE getting the first row of blocks level can be.... this project wasn't an exception.

Tomorrow, the weeping willow, bald cyprus, and a few ornamentals come in... once those are in place, there will be about 18" of topsoil followed by around 3" of premium cypress mulch...

There's still a day or two of work... total time in it to date over 3 days: about 28 hours. That's with the wife and I both giving it our best efforts.

It was/is a hell of a project but we're very happy with the end results! One of my neighbors has offered to hire me to do something similar for his yard... I've already declined. LOL!

28 hours to build the retaining wall...and probably 38 hours put into detailing the truck when you're done

at least your priorities are straight

look good RP
Why did you stack the blocks against the house instead of backing up on the grass and dumping them where you needed them?

I didn't anticipate doing the project immediately honestly... the staging area and assembly area vary by about 15 feet so, not a real big deal with the hand truck...

Yeah, I had to handle them a couple of times but, my original plan was that this was going to happen in about a month...

I'm surprised you could even concentrate on the wall knowing there was that much dirt so close to your truck!

Looks awesome, RP. Can't wait to see the final pictures.
