drop out feature on control of fog lamps
DRL, Auto Lamps, Fog Lamps, & Driving lights are 4 different options available as OEM or aftermarket.
If someone says fog lamps then they bought the low powered short range option for poor visiability driving conditions.
If someone says driving lights they bought the 55W driving light option for night time driving.
If they bought driving light/fog lights they got both.
If they got DRL they have headlights when the ignition is on.
If they have Auto lamps DRL is standard plus headlights & tail lamps will turn on automatically when light is less than a predetermined amount. Then off again when there is suffecient external light.
If they got AD, another OEM option that automatically dims your highs when light from oncoming traffic is detected.
HID is only recently becoming available on our vehicles but has been offered on high end luxary cars for several years. The point is there is always room for improvement on everything.
I can remember 15 years ago or so my father complaining about Halogen lamps and how he felt like they blinded him. So he was going to get a set to blind them back. LOL Now Halogen is the lowest grade available and nobody has a problem with them!
Even if mine had OEM HID instead of halogen "which I replaced with Kryptonite and soon HID" I would still want something better. But either something better than HID has not been developed yet, or it has not been released to us yet.
However I am unsure about Lexus 30 degree rotation headlight system...Just wait until they get stuck to the left and then will be pointed right into the opposite lane at oncoming traffic...LOL I know when this trickles down to our common vehicles some of us will not care to take it to be fixed and will drive them that way.

dropout feature on control of fog lamps
We note you are into electronicsany thoughts on the parts and schematic for the drop out feature
listed in the survey
Keep in mind there will a feed back from the DRL if it is operated in the low beam circuit
Love apple, cheery, lemon and pumpkin pie but need ice cream
on all except the lemon, a slice of cheese is nice on the apple
if its home made
Cheers

Well Im not a (vision person "optomistrist"). But looking at it I don't know what the purpose of the survey could be used for. Other than determining how different vehicles are wired.
That's an easy answer...with a switched power and a ground...LOL J/K

drop out feature on control of fog lamps
Many thanks for the comments, There is a need for people to be involved in having input into the vehicles that we spend millions of dollars on during our lifetimesIn canada there was little thought at the federal level into the application of DRL and how the builders would apply DRL and fog lamps in the mix
we wish you folks good luck with the implimentation in your areas of the world and hope that there will be some learning from the errors that were experienced in our area
Have a really nice weekend
