Maybe I should apologise for using foul language, it just takes me into the same gutter as the ones that cheese me off.

I'm glad that there are some of you who do care about how you appear to the rest of the world, that you seem to want to lead. I gather that some of the comments come from people who probably hide under pillow case hats, behind burning crosses.

We live in a global economy, led by oil and cash. Your lead into Iraq, shatterd the dollar worldwide. Three years ago, I only got $1.25 to the pound, now I get $1.85. Bush promised to go after Bin Laden, why then did you go into Iraq dragging us in? I don't totally blame you for going in, as our illustrious Prime Minister helped bolster the US in that decision.

I just hope that in the end, reason wins and the world becomes a safer place. Trouble is - you take out one terrorist, and five others join to step in his place. This is a no win situation. Chomping at the bit, jumping up and down, waving your guns, ain't going to work.

I hope you get the result you want and I may your god go with you. If I upset some of you, I'm not sorry, because If you're upset, maybe it will get you thinking, and then again, maybe not....

All these words flying about global economy, terrorists, oil, dollar prices....... It saddens me somewhat that we live in the richest country in the world and I can take a drive on any given day and see homeless people, schools in need of help, people living in shacks.... I for one think there is too much going on here domestically. It's time the people take back this country of ours. I get sick of political bantering, government fraud, and down right lies...... I'm tired of this country being the policemen of the world. Let's take care of our own for a change. Iraq, Iran, Isreal, all these countries have been fighting since the beginning of time. They'll keep fighting forever..... Let them...

Wow, this thread got out of hand after I left the computer yesterday. In retrospect our British friend didn't come right out and tell us who to vote for, but he gave us some strong advice, advice is ok, operation Clark County and asking you to vote for a candidate by name is wrong. I think there is a difference, and maybe I missed it yesterday. We know what the rest of the world wants but again I say that for Americans there is more at stake here than world opinion of us and the war in Iraq, there is just as much at stake on the domestic side and that is at least as important to many people as foreign policy. Expecting Americans to vote against what might be right for them at home so the rest of the world can be satisfied is foolish. Anyway, this election is about America first and the rest of the world second, as it should be. We know their opinion and I'm sure its been weighed with many other factors foreign and domestic in many American’s minds and now they are making the best choice for their country.

Sucks about all the name-calling and insults, I like the British so much I barely consider them part of Europe and that’s a compliment.

I don't think you will find many Englishmen who consider themselves European. I don't even call myself British.

 

Yeah, all the Brits I know (perhaps I should say citizens of the UK) use deordorant and bathe and shave where they need too, so yeah I guess you can hardly call yourselves Europeans. Sorry for the offense, I was trying to lighten the atmosphere in this thread at the expense of those damn french (shakes fist in anger)...
