Once they have 20% market share and GM is bankrupt... you will have even less choice than you did in the 60's under GM.
That's a scary thought...

"Sir we just need to talk about the options now. What color would you like your Prius?"

"I don't want a Prius."

"Well you can always substitute a Corolla or a Camry."

"What else do you have?"

"Well we have several different colors of Prius, Corolla or Camry to choose from, as long as you like black, white and gray."

"D'oh!"

and they're all made in China. We closed that San Antonio plant the first time those Americans asked for a raise.

Comsumer Reports: car reviews for pu$$ies.

Read a real car/truck magazine.

If I want to know what car will get make me popular at a tree-hugger rally, I'll read Consumer Reports.

I don't go along with anything Consumer Reports says. They aren't a vehicle oriented organization, they don't test vehicles like a good car or truck magazine would (Car & Driver, 4 Wheel & Off Road, even Motor Trend) and their reviews are obviously biased.
Case in point:
Years ago I was reading an issue of Consumer Reports and they had a review on a new Lincoln Town Car. Now we all know that this car is expensive, plush and well built.
Consumer Reports gave it a bad rating because during their road test, the car pulled to the right just a bit. Now we all know that this probably is just a case of the front end alignment being off just a bit. But they gave it a bad review and said that with this kind of defect, they cannot recommend anyone to purchase a Lincoln Town Car with a defect such as this. After I saw this, I never picked up another issue of Consumer Reports again.
What a bunch of *******!

I'll continue to buy the best product on the market. When it comes to pickups, it's Ford. Sport Sedan, it's BMW. Compact, it's BMW again (Mini Cooper). Full size affordable sedan is a crap shoot, so many good products on the market. If Amercian companies make the best, I'll buy it. However, I'm not going to buy a Zenieth TV over a Sony just becuase it's Amercian (assuming Zenieth is still an American company).

I thought Sanyo was made in america. I know they use to have a plant in Arkansas. Seems like it was in Forrest City or Palestine maybe.

Unfortunately not. The last TV made in america was way back in '96 I believe by curtis mathis. I've got one of the last RCA's made in the US by RCA in '94 in my bedroom. Still works great!

What a bunch of *******!

they don't test vehicles like...a magazine - - gave it a bad rating...during their road test, the car pulled to the right a bit

how is that biased? the car wouldn't drive straight! should they recommend the car? "Well readers, we had problems with the car but ignored them, it probobly came off the line with poor alignment".

Much of what Consumer Reports is WHAT THE CONSUMER REPORTS. Reviews by people who bought the car. Are they biased too, when they say they wasted their money?
