Go ahead and be a trader and by that jap crap I would have had some respect for ya if you went with Chevy or Dodge if you didn't want to buy a FORD as they both are American made. Go ahaed and be a trader and sell out to the japs.

You ask for an unbiased opinion and then quote from CR... one of the most anti-american product review groups out there. I can point many a thing wrong with what you posted.

The cabin is relatively noisy
Only truck that i have driven at 80mph that you can talk to someone in a normal voice and thats with flowmasters on my truck.

But braking is marginal
I trust all disc brakes than the disc/drum brakes still common on a lot of toyota products and frankly best braking truck ive driven. I tested trucks from the big three and toyota before deciding on my truck. You can't expect a 3 ton truck to stop on a dime.

getting in and out is difficult, and the rear seat is cramped
Im 6'1 and just under 200 and I have no problem getting in or out of my truck. I have sat in the back before when my dad was driving it and there was leg room for me unless the seat was all the way back. I drive a Supercab. If they had probelms here, they are either using a 6'8 guy or someone who is in their 80's and walks with a cane.

one of the longer beds in its class
It's a bit smaller than the others
With the introduction of the Tundra Double Cab, all that has changed. Flaunting a 140.5-inch wheelbase and overall length of 230.1 inches, the grown-up Tundra is almost four inches longer than the latest Ford F-150 SuperCrew. Moreover, the extra length accommodates a 74.3-inch-long load bed, and that's at least seven inches longer than the bed in the F-150 SuperCrew or Nissan Titan crew cab.
Can we say contridictions.

"2004 North American Truck of the Year" Panel of 49 Automotive Journalists
Car and Driver magazine "5Best" 2004
eMOTION! REPORTS.com "Truck of the Decade"
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety "Best Pick"
Popular Science Magazine "2003 Best of What's New Grand Award"

On Wheels Magazine "Urban Truck/SUV of the Year"
On Wheels Inc. "Urban Truck of the Year"
Auto Journalists Association of Canada "Best New Pickup Award for 2004"

You see that, That is a incomplete list of all the awards the Ford f-150 has won. Think Ill trust that over one report from a company that is very biased towards jap cars. Have a nice day and dont let the door hit you on your way out.

I know to which day he is referring.

But 60 years after the fact... thats some pretty sad thinking.

Oh and FWIW, Rams are made in Mexico. Yep. Buy American.

F150 engines made in Canada. Yep buy American.

In today's global economy, that Jap crap argument wears thin. I don't see too many people avoiding Chinese made goods. The same China that America fought in Korea. Much closer in recent memory than WW2.

That's right. Let's all get real and stop the Jap Crap argument. Most of the executives at Toyota and Honda weren't even alive when Pearl Harbour was attacked.

I still wouldn't buy one of their vehicles... but not because of an event that happened over 60 years ago.

Have fun

Have fun with your Toyota. If that is your choice so be it. You can quote Consumer reports, Consumer digest, Consumer whatever, again, it is all personal preference about what truck you like.

Now personally, I don't want to look like a soccer mom going to pick up the kids as I drive down the street. I am keeping my FORD. Could be worse, you could be getting a Chevy Alalanche.....er wait a minute

While this may be unpopular, it is true.
I read this article in either Motor Trend or Car & Driver- I forget which one... I don't like long beds, nor do I use my truck as....a truck. It's my car- so you won't catch me using it like a truck very often.

Everything is a matter of opinion...
I love my F-150, but- I gotta tell you- if I wre in the market today, I would not buy a 2005 F-150 without first test-driving a Titan Crew Cab and a Sierra Denali Crew Cab; and I'm pro Ford; I'm just not blind- or single minded enough to think there's only one nice truck..
The truth is, there's only one right choice, and that's whatever you choose to make 36, 48, 60 or 72 payments on. As long as you can live with it, so can we...

Peeps, this thread was brought back from the dead. Having said that, buy American.

"American ingenuity over Japanesse engineering any day"

Right on. Anyone can reverse-engineer (japanese) a vehicle from something already created (American, German engineering.) Truth is a biotch.

I will continue to buy American... but for a different reason. To me, Toyota is doing to cars what WalMart is doing to retail. My feeling is that they will soon dominate and then call the shots like GM did in the 60s. They will operate US plants as long it is beneficial to them. Once they have 20% market share and GM is bankrupt... you will have even less choice than you did in the 60's under GM.
