The Weimar republic sucked for the Germans but then again the **** regime didn't exactly do much better for them when all was said and done. Despotic tyrants don't just come from the right; they come from the left too. They might tell you that the rich need to be taken down and everyone needs to be equal and the government needs to be involved in every aspect of your life and provided everything for everybody. Then it will be a paradise of equality and happiness. Worked real well for the Russians.

Could you detail the loss of freedoms? You want law enforcement to be more effective against terrorists and the boarders to be more secure, well then you get the patriot act and some of the unpleasantness it entails. If they can't do that, then you end up with a few more 9/11/01 style attacks on your hands. It’s going to be one or the other, but seems like a lot of people want both without any consequences from either.

I like the "your neocons" comment, I'm on record saying that I don't like the PNAC neocon crowd in the bush administration and that is why I'm not voting for Bush, b/c of the neocons. They are aggressive fools who didn't listen as well as they should to the military. Attending a PUBLIC rally in public places that were built and paid for with local taxes, voicing dissent, that doesn't seem to be allowed by the shrub campaign. One must sign a loyalty oath, so one may not see the president speak otherwise. If you refuse, they get the cops to escort you out.

Kerry allows anyone to attend his rallys, and has dealt with hecklers and disrupters, yet still allows anyone to attend, now thats walking one's talk.

For those of us who don't subscribe to a party, that are discontented with the two party system, and care about their country and themselves vote to let Bush handle the conflict with terrorism for the next four years. The dems should be looking forward to '08. They can have it then for all I care. I, and many others, just feel this is the wrong time with the wrong climate for Kerry to be calling the shots.

loudist, you've done a fine job of posting lines and lines of stuff,(from reliable sources?) that supposedly substantiates yours, and other "progressive liberals" claims. The way I see it though, your missing the point. I'm guessing you spend an awful lot of time looking at different stories on the internet? Have you noticed how there are so many conflicting reports of the same "events"? It seems that you only look at one side. Have you ever been hit by a car while crossing the street, or do you look both ways before crossing? There are so many stories being aired that haven't been thoroughly examined. Rathers documents were a big one, but this stuff is happening all the time. People can be so gullible. I'm not some one who has the time to look all over the internet for what stories say what. Fortunately in time these things usually have light shed on them. In the mean time we've got Kerry out there campaigning with a story that has just begun to be picked apart. There are too many questions unanswered to say that this is the way it is.

I heard today on a conservative talk radio show that ABC has recieved a tape from a suspected Alqaeda operative explaining the "blood bath" planed to hit in the United States that will be much worse than 9/11. At first ABC said they wouldn't air the story because it hadn't been authenticated. It was then authenticated by the CIA and the FBI and now ABC says that they don't want to air this story "while people are voting". I wonder if we will hear anything about this before the 2nd. This is something I would really like to know more about.
This ABC explaination is starting to smell like 380 tons of New York Times BS to me.

So, here are the FACT’S we know…

The inspectors know the 377 tons of high explosives were there in Jan. 2003. They do NOT know for sure if those weapons were there in March 2003 because they NEVER opened the sealed doors to actually look.

Another FACT, there were ventilation holes to the storage areas AND the explosives could have been moved through this ventilation because the inspectors NEVER sealed them off.

Yet, one more FACT, Kerry has NO idea what the hell he is talking about but since he is desperate he is spewing any kind of propaganda that will stick. Problem is only the very few hard core extremist leftist are actually buying it…

So, this is a dead story and more so for Kerry who has no right to yap about it since he would have let Saddam keep all 400,000 plus tons of high explosives.
