Talking to my daughter again?

 

It was an EXCELLENT decision by Florida and their fine Governor that is PRO-life rather then PRO-death.

The woman is NOT brain dead and therefore NO one can say if there is hope or not. Doctors have been VERY wrong in the past and they will continue to be so in the future because they are human.

These is nothing “wacko” or “****” about the decision. Now for those that would have rather seen her starved to death then they very well are “extremely wacko” same type that picks spotted owls over human beings.

I ask these question to anyone that “really” believes this woman should have been tortured to death:

1.Can we FORCE prisoners to work 20 hour days and only feed them 2 meals of rice, bread and water a day?

2. When prisoners get out of line can we give them 10 lashings with a whip?

3. When we catch terriost morons (that were caught in the act) and when we are interrogating them for information can we cut off a finger every 15 minutes when they play “stupid”?



If your true to your beliefs and values, as far as this women should have been left to starve to death they your answer SHOULD be YES to all the above.

If not, then you’re blowing smoke….

if god wants her to live she will live after the live support is offline. if god wants her to die he will take her after the machine is off. funny how GOD works.

I have to speak up here - there's a LOT I need to say.
1)jaymz - your posts border on arrogance & quite frankly I'd LOVE to engage you in a verbal/philosophical/spiritual match ANY day. I'll run rings around you - TRUST me on this. You do NOT know anything about this story - try listening to the news or (GASP!) reading the news stories! She IS alive - dead people can NOT be starved to death!
2)Feedings & hydration are NOT EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES - if they were we'd ALL be kept alive by these means & hell - let's ALL stop eating/drinking so we can excercise our rights!
3)We give DEATH ROW convicts a HUMANE death by lethal injection so they do NOT suffer prolonged for periods of time! Is Terri Schiavo LESS WORTHWHILE THAN A CRIMINAL????? If so - WHY? If ANY of us had a loved one in this condition we'd ALL be praying for a miracle & don't tell me otherwise - you'd be lying & I'll point that out immediately. To your face or here - I'm not fussy.
4)God did NOT make this happen. What He DOES do is use us to teach a lesson or to reach out to people to make them see the importance of human life, compassion, trust, understanding - whatever lesson they need to learn.
5)Michael Schiavo IS A THIEVING, ALDUTEROUS, LOW LIFE. He has FULL control of HER money & has to be ordered to have her infections treated (nothing way out there - antibiotics take care of them!) & has REFUSED ALL THERAPY SINCE THIS HAS HAPPENED! He has a tramp - er, excuse me - mistress - ooops - girlfriend/mother of his children & he wants to "move on with his life" & end his LEGAL wife's life. I wouldn't let this guy put air in my tires let alone make a decision for me! Now, he's barred her family from seeing her & before the order to reinsert the tubes was given he REFUSED HER FINAL COMMUNION/LAST RITES! Who the HELL does he think he is? I'd LOVE to meet him in person - I have a lot to say to him that wouldn't be fit to post here.
6)People HAVE recovered from this state - some were vegatative for much longer than she's been. Are any of you SO sure - SO POSITIVE she isn't going to recover? I'm not & I was a Bio major, worked in the medical field for 26 years & was a certified EMT. I wouldn't "bet the farm" on this. Other than starvation/dehydration she was NOT suffering from any illness that was terminal - she breathes on her own. I too lost my Dad like Buckdropper - letting him go was devastating to me but I knew he would not recover from a tumor that spread thru his entire spinal cord & had taken up most of his liver. If there was any chance he'd recover I'd have fought to keep him alive. Yes - God COULD have saved him but that wasn't His plan & I accept that. Terri Schiavo is different - ALL she needed was food & water! HOW LOW A PERSON WOULD DENY HER THAT? Her HUSBAND obviously!
I would like to see what he'd say/do if they told him he CANNOT HAVE THE MONEY! Would he STILL fight to let her die? Or would he just walk away & marry his g/f & never look back!
I hope Michael Schiavo is haunted the rest of this life & for eternity for the heinous, vile action he was trying to pull off. If God can forgive him that's fine - it's going to take me a LONG time to be as gracious. Guess Mikey is lucky I'm not God - he'd be burning in hell forever.

You’re preaching to the choir here as far as raising taxes. I am one of the biggest people against raising taxes for so many social programs like welfare. There are a good majority of people on welfare that DO NOT need it.

However, I have always stated and stayed true to my core conviction of helping the “truly” needy. That includes those that are needy because of medical, mental or other conditions “beyond” their own control.

I have NO problems paying taxes that go towards those people. This woman in not brain dead and as Cowlady pointed out she is kept alive as every other human is FOOD and WATER. She is not dependant upon man made machines to keep her alive.

Let me ask this question of you:

You way out in the middle of nowhere offloading and you come upon someone that has rolled their truck. They are trapped inside. They are not in any need of medical assistance, they are not injured they are just pined inside with no way of getting themselves out on their own.

Before you answer here is a known fact. This person will not be found by another person for 90 days.

What are you going to do?

Remember what you stated about this women, “if God wants her to live then God will let her live”

 

Hmmm - interesting! BTW - maybe someone should go stand on the ventilator tubing that Christopher Reeves NEEDS to breathe - that's NOT normal.
Quick story - when I worked at Children's Hospital I met Jimmy. Jimmy was a parapalegic from going thru a windshield when his DRUNK father blew a stop sign & his Mom, who was holding him instead of using a car seat WHICH THEY HAD IN THE CAR went thru the windshield too using the 7 MONTH OLD baby as a cushion. His neck was broken causing the paralysis.
Jimmy needed a vent to breathe & feeding tubes too. He was also the MOST ALERT KID I'd ever seen in that hospital! By the time I met him he was 6 years old. Docs had operated when he was brought in out of a LEGAL responsibility - they didn't think he'd live BUT - he did!
Jimmy LOVED TV - it was the only thing he really had to do all day/nite. If someone shut it off or if he wanted a nurse or attention he'd fight the vent & make the alarm sound so everyone would rush to him! Pretty SMART for a "gork" huh?
One day he had a MAJOR, 3 hour long seizure. They couldn't break it. When it was finally over Jimmy didn't respond to external stimuli anymore - didn't sound the alarm, didn't even smile. He'd just lay there day after day. His parents signed him over to the state & stopped visiting him - they had normal kids now & droped him totally.
Well, after a few months of this state Jimmy started to respond again. He began sounding the alarm & smiling & his face lit up when people walked in his room. JIMMY WAS BACK! Better than ever! He'd woken up from his state! NOBODY expected him too - not even me.
He did eventually die at age 8 BUT he also served as a great learning experience so the doc's & nurses were better able to treat other kids as a result of having Jimmy with them for so long.
Jimmy served a purpose - a HIGHER purpose & anyone who met him was enriched as a person because of this little boy.
Now - who here would have turned his vent off & starved him to death? Jamymz? Mxhotshot? ANYONE?

mxhotshot - have you read ANY of the news stories? One of the KEY points is how her husband is sitting on a cool $1,000,000.00 given to him to CARE FOR HER & to compensate him for her injuries as a result of medical malpractice which CAUSED her to be this way! WHAT PART OF THAT AIN'T GETTING THRU? Taxpayers are NOT footing her bill! Talk about a slap in the face, huh?
I'll give you an even bigger slap in the face - God forbid it were you in this situation I'd STILL gladly pay higher taxes to protect your right to live! So - be as small minded as you want to be but I'm not going to deny you the BASIC NECESSITIES for living - food & water. Now - you're so smart - how much do you think that's costing? Not much. Why do you want an innocent young woman dead? What did she do?
I noticed how you didn't address ANY of my points directly - why not? I'd love a debate with you & jaymz both! Go for it. I promise you this though - neither of you will win.

 

I am seeing a lot of uninformed posts here. I have already voiced my opinon in another thread on this subject, so to clearify, I'll just post two facts:

Terri is NOT in a comma, or brain dead as some people posted. It is debatable that she is in a 'vegitative state' but 7 doctors, a few nurses (and me) say she isn't, while only 1 doctor says she is.

Terri's bills are NOT being paid by the taxpayers. Her medical exspenses are being paid from a fund won by a malpractice lawsuit on her behalf. Her husband won a court order to make that fund also pay for the lawyers fees from him trying to legally kill her.

If you feel strongly enough to post your opinion, please read up on the case.

It is obvious you have no idea of what is going on around you. You neither understand the consequences of your “feelings” of which that is all they are. Your decision is not based on hard facts nor any core beliefs just myths and “feelings”.

You don’t seem capable of answering “simple” questions or posting anything of much intelligence. Time to wake up and smell the coffee…


Here is a very “simple” question for you:

Would it be ok to lock you in a room with no food and water for 120 days? If God wants you to live it should be no problem, correct? If your strong enough you will survive, correct?

 

I would add that Terri has a VERY nice dad because if it were my daughter and only her husband had the decision, and he chose to let her STARVE TO DEATH and I had no input the husband would be DEAD by now…

 

i know what would happen. a person would die being locked up for 120 days. i am not the one with Blind faith, i don't look up to some super being.

it is not feelings, i work on facts.

so i need some facts from you. prove to me there is a god......
