i just lost my Dad almost the same way and if you have not lived it you have no idea the pain it reeks on everyone involved.

my dad had a brain tumor that progressively got bigger and bigger after the 1 st surgery they said it would not gow back for a long time but 30 days later is was bigger than ever and he suffered for another 50 days until we finnally STOPPED it and let him go. No feeding tube and morphine for pain. I am still haunted each day by my decision but i know he is no longer suffering. I know this case is somewhat different but sometimes you have to let GO...

I don't know who has been paying the expenses for her (private or insurance), but since the Governor ordered to keep her alive does this mean that the fine citizens of Florida are now picking up the tab?

Doug,

No FL residents don't foot the bill on this one. The husband won a malpractice lawsuit on her behalf where he was awarded around 300K for his loss/suffering and an additional 750K to cover all of her medical expenses and rehabilitation for the remainder of her life. The biggest shame is he has refused to utilize any of the money alotted to conduct rehab not to mention he had to be ordered by a judge to treat numerous infections. Seems to me like the guy merely wants her gone so he can gain access to the remainder of the funds that are to provide for her care and rehabilitation efforts.

I personally am happy that they thwarted his plans. The guy has been with another woman with whom he now also has children with yet they are still married??? Seems to me someone doesn't want to let go of the money. He could always get a divorce and allow the parents who want to take care of her do so.

Jeb (and his brother, for that matter), should mind his own damn business and let the families deal with it. By the time these **** Republicans get done with us, they'll be a camera in every bedroom.

She's brain-dead, for Chrissakes! 5 doctors testified there's no hope.

She is not any where near brain dead, that fact has been proven over and over again.

the fact is, she's still living. There is still hope, God can make miracles happen by saying one word. You don't want to kill someone because you don't think they'll live.

There was a guy on an expedition out west exploring the western territory when the US was still a new country, and some indians attacked these men, and one went into a coma, and the other men left him because they expected himn to die soon. They took all of the supplies and his rifle with them, so he was left with nothing but the clothes on his back out in the desert. He came back to reality several days later, and crawled miles through the dester without water or food, back to the fort they had started from.

Remember, Your maker can do anything. He made you, so why can't he bring someone who is "brain dead" back to living reality?

he brought the dead back to life in the Bible as well, just read it and you'll see.

Yeah...right.

Lay in some hospital bed for God knows how many years, wasting away, can't think, can't take care of herself, doesn't recognize anyone....everyone else waiting for some "miracle" to happen so she snaps out of it after 30 years? Get real, Jack!

Yes Sir, that's the kind of life I'd want. Sticking my spouse or the public with the medical bills; hanging around like a vegetable so my spouse can't move on and have a life of her own.

You religious wackos kill me!

My wife went to the mall and spent way over our limit.
When I asked her about it she didn't answer and looked right thru me like I wasn't there.

I could have waited for some kind of mircle to occur and the Bill would get paid but, instead I just had her put down.

She can recognize people, has been well dopcumented by several medical practitioners, or in lamens terms doctors. Why not read the story, learn the facts of the case before jumping all over people labeling them ****'s or wackos? Obviously youve only read what the husband has had to say, why not read some unbiased reporting on the subject, you may learn something.

You blow hard close minded flamers kill me.

You're lucky. I was only giving you two more minutes to respond and I was going to pull the plug on you.
