What Do These Codes Mean?

What Do These Codes Mean?

Lost power. Running rough. Oil light cane on.
changed following items:
oil pump.
Both vct s.
Both Camshaft position Sensors.
Alternator
put out code p0345,p0359, p0344
Read our says intermittent Camshaft position sensor circuit.
does that mean the connection or defective wires ?

The P0359 does. It means an electrical circuit problem in the COP 'primary' or 'secondary' of cylinder 9. (You probably meant some other number - P035x).

But that P0344 and P0345 has the STUPIDEST written diagnostic description of them all. Do NOT go looking for bad connection or replace Cam Position Sensors. They are working or you wouldn't have gotten P0344 or P0345. They are telling you that during cranking for Bank 2 (P0345) - the Phaser fingers are NOT positioned where the PCM expects them to be (which is 'locked' at base [zero] retard). If you meant P0349, then BOTH banks from time to time the Phaser fingers aren't where they are supposed to be while running. All three of those are early indicators the Phasers are NOT holding cams where the PCM expects them to be ---- and it is just a matter of time until you see P0012 AND/OR P0022. Then it's timing job time.

thx so much. What’s throwing me off is:
I changed both camshaft position sensors. After reconnecting the battery it ran like a new truck. I drove it 8 miles. Started coming home and wham. The problem was back.
my code said intermittent so I thought just maybe a connection or broken wire.
I’m stumped

You said you changed both VCT's - did you change the solenoids or the phasers, or both? Did you use OEM or aftermarket parts? Did you remove the front cover and inspect the timing chains, tensioners, and guides? Did you watch the video?

Camshaft position sensor circuit codes.

I’ve replaced everything mentionable.
I’m like most. Pulling out my last hair.
walked away. Slepted on it.
I tried the alternator test too.
The code description stated intermittent.
I’m thinking since the alternator acts like that. It’s hard to duplicate a problem that’s intermittent.
Today I got In and started up my truck after running it on the the battery for a bit.
The alternator had to jump into charging right away. I got a sound that was like my power steering going out. Whining. Then after a bit it got quite. I had done this before and my truck ran like new for about 15 miles in local traffic.
I’m thinking back In the direction of the alternator.
When I first took my truck to a mechanic it was running poor and oil light coming on.
He changed my oil pump and adjusted the timing. He didn’t fix it and tried to charge me $1800.
After words I’ve changed vcts, camshaft position sensors , cleaned my engine twice with internal cleaners and changed my oil and filter twice.
I even checked hoses and Evap canister solenoid.
Since my alternator made that noise after being under a load, I’m going to have it tested and possibly change it too. Omg.

You said you changed both VCT's - did you change the solenoids or the phasers, or both? Did you use OEM or aftermarket parts? Did you remove the front cover and inspect the timing chains, tensioners, and guides? Did you watch the video?

Jbrown - you DON'T have to be a forum guru, but we can't see your vehicle or read your mind. We can't help you if you don't tell us answers to what we are asking. Just try to work with us and we'll try to help you. The video is clear and very easy to understand - did you watch it and have you checked that component?
