Maybe they'll paint it pink. On accident.

I cannot believe these people.

I specifically said "DO NOT PAINT MY VEHICLE" to the shop, and the Service Bay. Told them to re-assemble my vehicle and have it ready for delivery to me at 1200.

Got a call at 8 AM...and they were painting it. Said I might get it back by late tomorrow night (Friday)...I'm guessing I'll get it Monday instead. If they even bother working on it.

Now I'm also being told that they have no authorization to paint my vehicles Exterior. Basically sounds like they're trying to just stick me with it.

And wouldn't you know it, but all of the General Managers are "off" today and cannot be reached. I have a feeling I'm screwed. And they weren't even decent enough to give me lube

Another ****ing Update

Got my Expy back today...finally.
Was told to come down at 4:30...arrived at 4:00. Sat on the lot until 6:00 when my Expy finally rolled up

wanna guess what I found?

They wet sanded the exterior...in some places. But didn't fix a mother****ing thing. The only part that got painted was the huge area (quarter size) of paint missing on the grille, and the Factory Defects.

Nothing exterior fixed

and to boot, I'm missing more external trim pieces now, and they somehow lost a small trim piece on the rear hatch

Ford Corp and the Dealership Owner are getting a Certified Complaint mailed out tomorrow with supporting Documentation, Photo's, Video...I even have NAMES & Dates.
I tried to do the proper thing, and let the Dealership solve the issue locally. Guess I'm just too nice a guy

realized I hadn't been by here with an update recently.

Honolulu Ford has had the Expy for 6 days now...supposed to get her back on Monday.

the badges and some plastic pieces are on back-order, so who knows when I'll get them. But supposedly my Expy will finally be in "NEW" condition for the most part when I go to pick her up
they are going to wet sand and buff it some more, and the Drivers door, rear hatch and every single piece of trim is getting resprayed

only 1,200 miles, and 64 days later of course

Buyback/Lemon Law is not an option.

they got the factory defects the first time they had it for 22 days

it gets better though. I called yesterday to see when I could pick up my Expy...and somehow they litterally lost it. Took them 2 hours to find my vehicle.

It had been taken to another body shop and apparently sat there for a whole week. My phone call prompted some emergency work I guess. I don't get it now until Wednesday.

Horrific experience...and not a damn thing I can do about it. Ford Corp is very appologetic, but not thier problem, and they aren't interfacing between me & Dealer at all

Did you contact the better business bureau? i know it sounds stupid, but it makes a big deal to business owners if you say you will contact the BBB with a complaint.

Yeah, I've done the BBB. They won't let me file against the Dealership. Only against Ford. That was a waste of time.

Had my Lawyer talk with them...nothing. Laywer submitted the paperwork to Ford notifying them of my intention Officially to do a buyback....nothing from that either.

Was supposed to take delivery on Monday. But they forgot it again or some other bull****. Told me I'd get it today

and today, the latest in my Saga....it just keeps on getting better
they screwed up my drivers door paint, but thought nobody would notice apparently.

it went back to the paint/body shop. no idea on delivery date. been told anywhere from Today to next week since it's the 4th July weekend

I'm seriously about to Flip the **** out at this point

so I created the site http://www.honolulufordsucks.com last week

good read...I then gave 'em a bad review on their Google search reviews & included the URL

got a call today. Apparently they found my website. My Expy won't be available until Wednesday now. But supposedly they are doing a complete Detail on it inside and out prior to delivery.

Waiting to see what happens with this latest promise date

I feel for your bad service, but creating a website dedicated to it is hysterical! wanted to check it out but your link won't work for me for some reason. if i quit my job maybe i'll have time to make websites dedicated to ragging on everyone that yanks me. like the tire shop that made me wait an hour while their goons looked throgh the dumpster for my wife's ins. card, registration card, and plate sticker they threw out.(and didn't find.) or the shop i had change an alternator for me cuz i didn't have time. two months later i notice dents coming OUT of the fender from where the old alternator is rolling around inside it. if i did stuff like that i'd have no job to quit.

sorry, I had to take down the website. It was part of the agreement that Honolulu Ford and I reached on the purchase of a 2009 Mustang Bullitt. I had been negotiating for about 3 weeks and we couldn't get to terms I thought were reasonable.

Then yesterday I got a call and was asked about the website. Since I had proof for everything I said in the site, and I was very careful to not be slanderous or libel, they were quite litterally screwed. I had even included the link in their Google Search business reviews.

So they sucked it up and gave me the Bullitt on my terms. They are also "guaranteeing" that my Expedition will be delivered to me 100% tomorrow (July 8th) in New Condition with a 100% interior/Exterior detail job.

sqeaky wheel does get the grease. it just takes a bit sometimes. They've had my Expy for I think 37 days so far.

I'll dig up the Timeline and the pictures from the website. I think it was those 2 items that really sealed the deal...kind of hard to refute my story when I've got work orders, pictures and even video of all the issues

April 21st 2009: I bought a 2008 Ford Expedition EL - Limited
  • Looked great externally.
  • Viewed the Expy around 5:00 P.M. and didn't have good lighting
April 24th 2009: I did a Detailed Wash and discovered the Paint issues
April 25th 2009: Brought the Expy to Honolulu Ford
  • Got 2 videos of the paint issues.
  • Talked to Virgil
  • Informed me to return on Monday the 27th and have the Service Department take a look at it.
April 27th 2009: Brought Expy to Service. Carmella was placed as my Service Writer.
  • She did a quick once over and asked me to come back later when they weren't so busy
  • Asked that I provide a Hand Written description of all of my complaints and bring back on the next visit
April 28th 2009: Brought Expy back again
  • Sat there for 2 hours until I was finally seen by Carmella
  • Carmella took my Hand written notes and using a Yellow Grease Marker, we outlined every single defect.
  • Carmella took pictures of the Exterior Damage, and the Interior Paint Defects.
  • I took pictures with my iPhone...see the pictures page for them.
  • Carmella informed me that Ford Corporate would have to approve the repairs, and she would call me once approval was had
May 1st, 2009: Carmella called and informed me Ford Corporate had approved the repairs.
  • Due to my schedule, I was unable to drop off until May 19th.
  • May 19th, 2009: Dropped of my Expy at 1:00 P.M.
  • Carmella said expect approximately 2 weeks for repair.
  • Repairs were to include: 100% of Industrial Fallout removal, Respray all Factory Paint Defects, Correct Exterior paint damages.
  • I dropped off my Expy with 860 miles, and 3/4 tank of gas.
June 1st, 2009: Called to check status. Was told it would be ready for pickup on Wednesday (6/3/09)
June 3rd, 2009: Called Honolulu Ford to see when my Expy would be ready for pickup.
  • Carmella could not be found
  • Was informed eventually by the Service Receptionist that my vehicle was in the Parking Lot
  • I was transferred to Kevin. Informed him I was coming, and to not do anything with my Expy
  • Arrived at the Dealership 1 hour later. 3:00 P.M. During that interval, they had returned the Expy to the Paint Shop against my wishes.
  • Kevin and I had a little "Pow Wow" session. He was told specifically to not allow any work on my vehicle and to have it delivered to me the next morning 1st thing.
  • Attempted to file BBB complaint. Unable to do so against Honolulu Ford. System only allowed me to do it against Ford Corporate.
  • Was informed that Ford Corporate had never authorized repairs.
  • My Expy had sat on the Paint Shops lot for 2 WEEKS WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED
June 4th, 2009: Got a call at 8:00 A.M.
  • Paint Shop had started work despite being told specifically not to.
  • Was told to expect Delivery on June 10th.
  • June 5th, 2009: Got a call at 9:45 A.M. from Harry
  • Claimed was unaware my Expy had Exterior Paint damage
  • Says the Work Order shows absolutely nothing about the repairs that were not completed
  • Changed due date to Friday, June 12th for repairs to be completed
  • Informed me that all authorizations from Ford Corp. had finally been authorized
  • Said that Virgil had okayed all repairs not specifically covered by the warranty.

continued in next post...
