Flowmasters suck!

After spending 400 on a true dual exhaust system with no cats and running it for 3 years I must say enough is enough. My flowmaster 40s are much too loud, not to mention the cab drone! Gives me a headache just thinking about it. Change is in order....

Logged on to summit and ordered myself two new Borla ProXS 2 1/4" offset/center mufflers and a magnaflow x pipe. So today the good ol' UPS man left me a nice gift on my step.- Still waiting on some new borla exhaust tips. Im going to change my current exit location from turn downs to a lightning style exit.

Currently I am about a week out when it comes to getting them on. I will have complete pictures of my setup this weekend and when the borlas go on.

When I first got them installed I loved them. Maybe I just grew out of them over a few years, I see you are running an electric cutout. How do you like that? The flowmasters just don't have a quality sound IMO. Ive listened to many different borla setups and love them all. We will see how it sounds.

I dont have the proxs borlas but do have a cat back system and I have the same problem as barrett it makes me smile every time I hear it start or I jump on it. In 3 years it hasnt saved me any mpg's yet lol.

Im looking forward to getting it done. Unfortunately I have galvanized pipes so clamps are in order. Also have a set of JBA shorties I put on about a month ago.

I had a Borla cat back single exhaust system put on my 1997 truck somewhere around 2000 I think. Borla didn't have a dual setup at that time. I loved the way my truck sounded. Now I got Magnaflow true duals on it. I wish I would have stayed with Borla. Now my truck sounds just like every other hotrod truck I come across.

Borla is a nice exhaust. I have the flow master 50 right now... Sucks no nice time
At all and when I rev it up in neutral its poppy and makes my truck sound under powered. I haven't decided which borla to go with yet but it will be a borla. Ive got a whipple and long tubes with no cats so don't really need
A loud muffer but want something deep in tone and brings out the "power sound"

Another one with just a single Borla Proxs single in dual out. Replaced a Magnaflow with the Borla. Love it! Has a nice tone, and keeps the aggressive tone all the way through the rpm's.

In Flowmaster's defense, I believe they are tuned to be used WITH a cat system in effect....so running without one will throw the whole acoustic range outta whack. Borlas have always been great pipes, tho, and I hope you like em!
