You will NOT be dissappointed ....The wife still asks me why I always want to drive my truck over her car when we go out.
Oh and I HIGHLY suggest re-tapping the threads on the block and cleaning them out. GL

nifty install guide, ill add that to my f150 longtube guide...

also just a side note... With the correct extension, rachet, and socket the starter is SUPER easy to remove. I wish I wrote down and measured which combo I used as you only have about 1" of play to fool around with....

Patrick is going to do the install for me and I believe he did the starter trick on a prior header install. Good to have trustworthy friends to help with this stuff.

OK, OBX LT headers w/cats, locking bolts, and O2 extensions ordered.

I decided to go with extensions rather than extending the wires myself or going with longer O2's. I know people on either side will argue with my decision but after all the research I feel comfortable that the extensions will work fine. If not then I know the alternative.

I think my neighbors are going to hate their 5:30am wakeup call every morning.

So, I've been contemplating getting OBX LT's with high flow cats for a while now. Thing is I have the rear exit ROR exhaust. Sounds great.

My question is if I add the LT's to the ROR, will my exhaust be too loud? I'm thinking it won't be when I'm cruising, which is what I do most of the time, highway miles.

Thoughts?

Also, fill me in on the O2 extension deal. How many? Easily made, or easier to buy?

Thanks, all.
I think you'll be happy with your decision....good luck!

As long as it doesn't drone on me while driving normally I'm not going to be altering the ROR catback. If and when I do put on my 3DCarbon skirt kit I'll have to re-do the catback to a side exit and sell the ROR exhaust.

One more tidbit....
Have you talked to Bill@PHP about rewriting your strategy?
With the new O2 locations the transfer function will be slightly altered.....

I may have to have the tunes altered. From Bill:

William,

Long-Tube Headers historically will cause a slightly lean condition due to the improved scavenging of the cylinders and subsequent (small) rise in volumentric efficiency. Looking at your existing tunes I really don't think there would be a problem, but considering that you're combined with high flow cats you might want to go ahead and have some minor tweaking done on the files just to keep things safe.

I hope this is helpful.

Yea, I'm not sure what needs to be changed adding LT's, - It's not even worth messing with IMO, -specially if you've already been tuned for an intake. I believe Mike has mentioned that somewhere.

Personally, I'd also purchase O2's that fit the install, but to each his own. Yea,-Screw all those connections, -the less the better.

Yeah, I'm fairly comfortable with the custom tunes the way they are since Bill thinks they are fine. But I have to hand it to him, he's a good businessman. He put in there just enough to make me possibly want more tunes.

If the extensions give me a code or whatnot I'll get different O2's.

Yea, if you get any kind of 02 DTC's inspect the connectors first. Even new connectors can thro a DTC. Depending upon construction, the connector can be packed with that white factory dielectric. It's added into the back of the connector then a silicon plug is pushed into it for weather seal.

This is good unless to much is added and contaminates the majority of the connector pin. O2 wires/pins are sensitive.

Other than that and most likely, it's plug and play.
