True, they do have it performed well, its just when you hear "5.0" i'm not impressed because of the original 5.0Ls.

Wonder if any more power can be gained with the average bolt on mods on the new 5.0L?

Welp, good news. I got my duals put on today. Really liking the sound. Got true duals with the stock cats on with the "xpipe" and flowmaster 40's put on. 2.5" tubing to 3.5" tips out the corners.

Yep. Depending how i like it for a while, i may end up taking my stock cats off and "fixing" them and put them back on.

^ EXCELLENT...

But don't "Fix" them, take them out, or put in Hi Flows. Gutted cats suck, sound and performance wise.

By fix, you better mean feeding 2.5" straight pipe through, cause as Av said, gutted cats will perform horribly down low and not sound as great as it could. Interrupting velocity isn't good.

Yeah, i was thinking of taking the pipe through them that way it still looks functioning and untampered with. With my county in Pa, all the law says is that it "has to look like it functions and untampered with" so thankfully we don't have to actually hook them up to a tester.

Thats not too far off from state college isn't it? And you dont have emissions down there? Sweet deal. Williamsport in Lycoming does I think now. I'm a bit north of Williamsport in Tioga County. No emissions, just visual inspection, but my mechanic friend trusts my lights and all work and lets my cat modification slide since I dont have straights.

Yep, were right dead center between State College and Harrisburg on 322. Been to Williamsport quite a few times. But yeah, the only thing for emmissions is that the cats "have to be on and look like they work and havent been tampered with"

Well with basic steel welds done CLEANLY by a mig they wont ever guess they were tampered with. Once the welds surface rust to match the cat shield they will be unnoticed.

I would for sure fail visually, its plainly obvious mine had 4 cats at one point.

Haha yeah, but really, unless for the inspection, how many times does a state police officer crawl under to look unless you did something to p*** him off haha. Yeah, im thinking about just shoving a pipe down through and putting them back on since i don't really have the money for high flows.
