Would this sound good?

I contacted my local muffler shop about getting a custom exhaust put on. I had talked to him about getting a true duals system, with flowmaster 40's on it with the x pipe, 2.5" piping coming to 3.5 " tips. I had plans on cutting my cats off and taking the truck there. I was hopping to be able to get the exhaust on without the cats, but he said they couldn't with chance of getting a fine, which i respect that. I really don't have the money for high flow cats, so with all that, do you guys think it would sound pretty good with the stock cats on?

Go ahead and let them do the install. After that cut them cats out and clamp in a new piece of pipe in there place. Then, do the Gotts mod for your o2's and look the **** out!!!

Hahaha calm down bro ^. That just happens to be his favorite exhaust setup. But like he said, just leave the cats on and get the work done and then if you still want it louder cut them out yourself and clamp some pipe in.

you might not want to remove all the cats if your in a emissions county, it says you live in Pa. I live there as well ,if your in a emissions county you will fail. still I would suggest waiting on high flows or deleting the rear cats. Even with 2 cats it might not pass inspection if they look at it.(not to ruin your fun Av frog)

Ok thanks, never really thought of that and would work good since my one buddy has a garage with a lift and everything. I actually got the setup idea from avfrog. I was watching the youtube videos over and over again and really like the sound. The Gotts Mod, what is that, not too familiar? Yeah, the county i live in has the rule "it looks like it has to be functioning" but theres no test that they hook up. I fortunately live in Juniata County, the 1 of the 2 counties that has that and not the actual hook up test.

Gotts mod is an o2 simulator mod to fool your computer into think your cats are still there. The best way is to tune for it, but if the budget is tight the mod should do fine.

Will the Gotts mod work on an 04-08? I couldn't find anyone that reported no issues on an 04-08. If it will I'm all for it!

I would wait until you can afford a set of hi-flow cats. If an officer is riding behind you, he might be able to smell the "illegalness" of your setup.
