Best laid plans...

So. I'm thinking about putting longtubes, hiflows, and DynoMAX Bullets on my '05 scab. Can anyone give me an idea of how loud/what that oughtta sound like? Youtube link? Also, will getting headers require a tune? I don't have any programmer or chip so...yeah.
Thanks,
Will

That will be very loud. No one has done this and posted a link so no videos.

Yes you will require a custom tune, so before you install you better have a custom tune waiting to be programmed.

Wow that will be extremely loud, im talking can't have a conversation in the truck loud. Listen to my videos and then multiply that by about 3 or so. I bet it will sound awesome, I just don't know if you will be able to stand it if you have to drive over an hour or so on the highway.

Damn, I really don't want to buy all that. What if I leave the cats alone? It's the headers that screws with the computer? Also, would it sound better in your opinion if I scrapped the hiflow idea and went with 2xFlowmaster Super 44's with longtubes? Or if the longtubes are out of the question, I could go hiflows and Super 44's...without the tune

You cant run stock cats with longtubes, it would eventually burn them out, and the 4 cat systems cant fun with longtubes.

Hi-flow cats with Super 44s would work out good. Would be nice to hear someone do it before I do it this spring. If I dont like it I can scrap the idea.

Okay, and then I wouldn't have to get it custom tuned? I was tossing the idea of buying a Flashpaq around, but don't know much about em. I think super 44's and hiflows will keep me out of trouble too..well at least better than the other ideas. Ha I didn't realize how loud it'd be.

Yeah the Fords can be quiet but thats mostly thanks to the cat system, once replaced with hi-flows they bark just like the rest. It would be best to still get custom tuned because you still may run lean. More flow equals more exhaust passing and the engine works a little harder to keep up, the custom tune not only kills any possible CEL but keeps everything in order to get the best performance out of everything.

Okay,so I'm looking at the two super 44's (Center in offset out 2.5" in/out) and two maggie hiflows. Now I want some new tips because the ones that were one at timeof purchase are cheap looking and starting to corrode. I like the rolled edge magnaflow style, and want to 90 them out the back behind the wheels. Could y'all give me an idea of how much that should cost, just installation-wise? I'm purchasing the mufflers, cats, and tips myself.

you might want to think about a crossover pipe. H or X will be fine! True duals w/ no crossover is a waste of time.
