An intake and custom tune usually isn't sold as a package but ordering the two seperate is all a matter of opinion. For both of those performance adders you have many choices out there. They all operate the same. Most people including myself prefer the S&B intake kit, and Gryphon custom tuning.

If you were considering buying both a CAI and a tuner, you should have enough for the Gryphon. Get it and then modify your stock intake. It will work as good as a CAI and you will have the tuner that gives you the most results for the dollar. That is what I would do.

Hang on, I'll find a link. Bill at PHP says it is within a couple of HP of a bought CAI and costs about $5 and a couple of hours.

You do have a 5.4, right? This does not look sexy like a bought one, buy will give the results until you can buy one, plus, it's quiet, since you retain the silencer. Check out the link.

A CAI does not help mpg very much. A tuner can, if you get an economy tune. A CAI can give you maybe 9 or 10 HP, but that is only if you have a custom tune. The tune can give you about 25 HP by itself.

Yes you can send it in and they will convert it over to a gryphon, basically put a black case on it instead of the grey. I believe they have a sale on right now for the gryphon upgrade.
