take all four out, and replace with two magnaflow high flows, a local muffler shop can do it up. just cut out after the first o2 sensor, b4 the second. there will be some minor pipe bending that they can do easy enough. weld it up and your good. when they did mine i had them replace the o2s as well.
with high flows, no CEL, much better sounding, better flow.

older vehicles only have oxidation cats whitch help remove HC and CO. once OBD2 came in more strict emissions came into play to reduce NOX which is where the second cat called a reduction cat comes in. they both do totally different things, removing the rear cats will make you fail emissions unless you remove both and put in a dual bed cat such as the 05+ f150 has which is basically both cats combined.
i called my local muffler shop and they said its against the law to remove any of the cats,i may run by another shop monday and see if they will do it

Just lie to them, say the 2 cats you want removed and replaced with Magnaflow high flows need to be replaced because they stopped working. Trust me, they wont take the time to make sure your story is true. Just dont try to bribe them to flat out remove 2 of them. They will probably refuse to do any work to your truck because they would think you were from the EPA trying to get them to do something illegal.
Since my truck is sneaking up on 70,000 miles and 75,000 is where cat replacement begins, my ehaust guy agreed to put hi-flows in my truck, but the catch is, it needs to be the 4 cat hi-flow system...
