magnaflow rep please help!!

I ordered a 16616 kit. Got it 11/5/07. Just had it put on yesturday 11/9/07. The dual tips do not match up right. One tip is higher then the other. The guy that installed it didnt noticed it, nor did I , until it was on and running. You can't tell till it's on the truck and the truck is on the ground. I was looking at it today and noticed that it is actually the whole pipe that is welded slightly downward from the other and the end result being the uneven tips. The kit shows no signs of damage or anything. It seems to be welded in the improper angle. I was wondering if magnaflow will stand behind their product fit and finish enough to send me another kit and exchange this one. Or something that can be done. I ordered the kit from hottexhaust.com by request magnaflows 1-800#. The packaging is not damaged in any way and I have everything. including all reciepts. Let me know where to go from here, thanks.

I think its how they are designed. Mine does the same thing, and I've heard many others say it as well.

I personally like it. Makes it look a little more aggressive if you ask me.

i have seen this on a number of systems, not just magnaflow
sometimes you have to play around with it for a while to get the tips to line up right-i have the 16614 kit on my truck and they line up pretty good most of the time, and sometimes they are off
buddy of mine has a rousch system on his and they do no line up at all, they are way off
maybe you just need to play around with them some to get them to line up

This is the side exit kit that comes out before the rear tire. It is all welded in place with no way to adjust them.
How does one pipe looking like it is drooping from the other look aggressive?? I wouldn't mind so much if the rear pipe was the one drooping and the front being higher, but it is actually the rear pipe that is higher and the front one is drooping. Looks stupid, especially after $500.

The installer did all he could. It is not a tip that is messed up it is the actual pipe itself. He said the only way to fix it would be to bend the one drooping pipe up a little, but it can't really be done because of the thickness of the metal and he/I were to afraid to mess up the system. It is welded on the muffler at a slight downward angle and the other one is welded on perfectly straight. I wouldn't mind so much if the rear pipe was the one drooping and the front being higher, but it is actually the rear pipe that is higher and the front one is drooping. Looks stupid, especially after $500.

I will get some pics in the morning and you guys can see what I mean..

ok makes sense now, thought you were referring to rear exit- with the side exit you have you may have a problem-hope they fix it for ya

Like I said before... I'm fairly sure its the product design. The only way your going to fix it is to re-weld the pipe or buy a new system.

You can kind of see it here in this pic of my truck:

and how did you spend $500? I got mine for $360 and installed it myself for free =)

Yeah yours looks similar. I am not impressed with magnaflow producing a product that looks like that, if this is the case. I should've bought the banks kit.. It was close to 500.00, 379.00 for the cat-back. 75 for the install. I wanted it on my truck and couldnt get the stocker off with out cuttin it (I have no lift). I didnt want the stocker cut. So had my shop do it. So it was about 475 total after taxes.

Wow magnaflow should be ashamed of themselves.. Where did you buy that kit from and how did you go about returning it??

B.S. I have the 16614 on my truck and the installer may have tweeked it a little, but it lines up great on my truck. It is all about the installer. You can't blame magnaflow for this. They have a great product. find yourself a real exhaust installer and get it right.

regardless of his problem with it not lining up. Their is no excuss for my kit (16616 side exit) it is welded crooked from magnaflow.

With the 16616 kit, its not the installed.

The rear-pipes though... that could be the installer. Theres a lot more play in those systems.

The 16616 slightly downward angle is because of the weld... nothing the installed can do about that unless he cuts it off and re-welds.

EDIT: Forgot to say, I've never received a negative comment about my exhaust. Everyone loves it... so maybe it is just annoying you =)
