magnaflow rep please help!!
I finally got pics but of course they wont properly upload on here. But I am emailing them to the hottexhaust/magnaflow companies. I measured the pipes from the truck and they hang over 1/2" different from one another. Big difference. I know this probably seems like I am being neurotic but to me a premium fully designed and built product at a premium price for anything should not show results of this nature. If I went and had a shop weld something together for 100 bucks and make a kit from scratch I would expect this kind of thing and it wouldnt even bother me. But I think it's not acceptable for a premium kit, at the prices they are charging, from a company like magnaflow. Just trying to give people somethings to think about before they go out and buy a kit. They aren't worth it have someone build you one!!!!!

You can kind of see it here in this pic of my truck:

and how did you spend $500? I got mine for $360 and installed it myself for free =)

i was just looking through here and noticed that magnaflow rep has no problem telling people how great his stuff is but as soon as someone has a problem with it he is nowhere to be found. just thought i would throw that out there.

That really doesn't prove anything at all.
First, him posting on these boards is just a convince for us... we can't rely on him to be watching these boards (and I'm guessing a lot of other boards aswell) all the time.
Second, if you have a problem with Magnaflow, call them! Don't post here and expect all your questions to be answered. I had a problem last year with my Magnaflow for my Fox Body, and they cleared it up in under a week. I have no negative views on their customer service.

Sound is great when WO, quiet at cruise, but it will drone a little on long uphills when the truck hasn't downshifted yet. Nothing but positive comments on the sound and look. The way the hanger is, it's very easy to not be level when installed. It's also easy to adjust.

Your pipes match up great!! Mine arent even close to that. I looked in your gallery at the "detail" shot of your kit and you can see how striaght yours is. When you look at mine you can easy see the shorter pipe is tweeked slightly downward. Now I know for sure mine isnt right. The hanger does give alot of adjustablilty unfortunately mine is crooked no matter what I do.. Oh well. Hottexhaust is contacting magnaflow directly and said they will let me know next week. I sent them pictures and they couldnt believe the welds either., the rep was absolutely stunned. so it's not just me, lol!

I had a magnaflow exhaust on my ranger-everybody said they had problems installing it, mine went on no problem and looked great
When I got my 07 F150 I put the dual exhaust #16614-every body claimed to have problems with it-I had zero problems getting it on and it looks awsome-I will also note how many people claim to have problems getting the factory exhaust off in one piece and using stands and everything else-Took me about 10 minutes to get the factory exhaust off and did it on the ground-zero problems.
I have used maganflow before and always will and will recommend to everybody. Before complaints go to far maybe we should all stop and look at the installer for the problem-Yes in some cases there is a problem(the OP sounds like he may have a problem), they are a big company and it will happen, no company is perfect
Just my .02
my 16616 lines up great! had for about a year now. but i am pissed off about the 2x4 that i ran over on the highway. kicked off the front tire and put a nice big dent in the front tip. now i need to but a new kit!! thinkin of getting some nerf bars just to prevent that from happining again

I came on here to get information on why my brand new almost $400.00 kit looks crooked, and which shows welded pipe measuring over a 1/2 inch off eachother. And to see if anyone had the same problems with thiers. I'm sorry I am not happy with my personal exhaust I recieved. I never said I was unhappy with magnaflow, just unhappy I got the kit that was last to weld on the assembly line friday afternoon. I'm sure hottexhaust/ magnaflow will fix this for me somehow. Good for you, glad to hear your money went to good use.. mine didnt. sucks to me. If you are not going to give me advice on what to do then why post here?? I love how everyone jumps on the band wagon to recommend things and then expects everyone to have the same great experience with the product and doesnt want to pitch in to help when there is one, just wants to tell you to get over it. Well sorry my kit looks terrible due to a defect. I thought it was a good idea to see if anyone else had this problem with thiers. guess next time I will just recommend stuff and not back it up, you know like a dealer does.
It sounds like you may have misinterpreted my post-or I confused you(I tend to do that alot-sorry)
Yes in some cases there is a problem(the OP sounds like he may have a problem)
I didnt post to bash you, it sounds like you got the last part off the line on friday as you say, and that you are taking all the necessary steps to resolve the problem(and im sure they will fix the problem and that you will in the end be pleased), I merely posted to say what I have seen in some of the other posts in this thread and else where on this site about somebody buying a part, cant install it correctly, and then say its defect from manufacture, and then post for all to see that they got a bad part from the manufacture when in all reality they installed it wrong. It happens way to many times and it passes on a bad rep for companies. No company is perfect and there will be problems, but a good company always makes it right.
Ill suck it up and say it now(and lose a little pride
)Sorry if I lead you to a misinterpretation

The guy that installed it didnt noticed it, nor did I , until it was on and running. You can't tell till it's on the truck and the truck is on the ground. I was looking at it today and noticed that it is actually the whole pipe that is welded slightly downward from the other and the end result being the uneven tips. The kit shows no signs of damage or anything. It seems to be welded in the improper angle. I was wondering if magnaflow will stand behind their product fit and finish enough to send me another kit and exchange this one. Or something that can be done. I ordered the kit from hottexhaust.com by request magnaflows 1-800#. The packaging is not damaged in any way and I have everything. including all reciepts. Let me know where to go from here, thanks.
See what may have happened is that when this piece was being welded when it was in the jig. Its possible if that when they went to put it in the box the part was still hot so then that would cause the part to move.

I hope you guys do stand behind it!! That's for the reply I appreciate it. What you said about how you think the welds could be off perfectly describes how it looks. I send hottexhaust an email per their request with pics and they havent given me any anwser yet, but I only sent it last weds or so.. should I contact magnaflow directly too??
