Most Powerful Intake...

What is the most powerful intake system out there, as in the one that generates the most horsepower, assuming same exhaust setups, etc? Also, what kind of price range would it be in?

well if you live in cold weather all the time, you will be better off with an open element kit, all are the same regardless of who makes it. Go for appearance, not price or brand. A sealed filter would be best for most anywhere though, you wont suck up hot engine air and be doggy around town... Ive had both, and my sealed Volant intake works 10X's better than an open element

Air Force One...it's been proven by Mike Troyer who has tested over twenty something intakes on his dyno...everybody is entitled to their opinion, but power is measured on a dyno, and tested at a track...also, my truck performs very well here in the deep south without any heat issues...as far as appearance, it's very good looking...

Ok, I'm sold on this intake... Now where would be the cheapest site to buy one from?

Do some searching online for the prices. Just get the part number and try http://froogle.google.com/ or you can get it through troyerperformance. I believe you will get a discount for being a member and they also will match prices with other online retailers I think...

an open element will prove more power on the dyno because the hood is open.

Do you think your Volant is making more power than an AF1 intake would in real world driving (not on a dyno)? Just curious...

well I believe there isnt enough of a difference in horsepower, but i would not get an open element because i have felt a major difference with my open and my volant.

Absolutley NOT...Its been tested, proven, and published here more times than some will admit, but the AF1 out performs the Volant drastically.
There have been several that have shown up @ Troyers with Volant on their truck for dyno day, and switched to AF1 before leaving after witnessing the difference in the two. Another well performing intake is the AEM Bruteforce.
BUT, the final decision is yours..and only you can make that one...

Yea I already know this but was trying to ask him his thoughts without offending him or thinking that I was attacking him. Just didn't want him thinking that he was getting better gains with his Volant over the AF1.

Oh I believe the AF1 will show more hp, but put that thing on the dyno with the hood down, engine hot, and 100* outside.

That's what I thought you might say. I still say the AF1 will make more power than the volant with the hood down in normal driving conditions. This is just my opinion of course with no data to prove this. I'd love to be able to put this to the test though.... Don't get me wrong I think the volant is a nice looking intake system, I almost bought one for my 2002 I had a few years ago.
