I had a Dynomax Ultraflow on my 2000 F-150 for 4 years. It was a muscle car on steroids sound. Idle was quiet, highway was tolerable, and at certain rpms/loads it was VERY throaty. My wife always said "I can hear you from a block away." Only buy the stainless steel version or it will rot from the inside.

Sorry for the slow response, but I was out of town. Yes, 3" SI/SO Ultraflow. Since both have a single inlet feeding the system, the performance will be similar. I would choose based on personal style. I prefer single exit with single inlet, but if you like dual exit, go for it. I bought my kit from A-1 and they're good folks.

How does the super turbo sound comared to the ultra flow? i can get a dual super turbo kit for only 190. but i want loud for accelaration so will the super turbo be loud enough? i've heard the website sounds, but couldn't tell much of a difference in sound, and i want to know if those sounds were recorded inside the vehicle.

The website sounds are universal in nature and not intended for specific vehicle exactness. The Super-Turbo is a mild sound with low flow. The Ultra-Flow is a throaty, muscular sound with an extremely high flow rate. So, is the Super-Turbo loud? No, it's not. It's a piece of junk in my opinion. They're not even comparable.

Then why don't they have a ultra flow dual kit for a 91 f150? I can't find one, and i'm sure it would be around 300 or more for a kit with an ultra flow. And an ultra flow alone is almost 100, not even a dual out. So i need some help with finding an ultra flow that will fit in the super turbo place.

Yes, the race mufflers are loud because they have very little sound deadening material and a small case size. Yes, you can exchange mufflers of proper offset and length into kits; that is exactly what A-1 did for me. Quality is expensive, but so is replacing crappy mufflers. $100 is not expensive for a stainless steel muffler with a good warranty. Did you browse around the links from above? For a 1991 5.0 reg cab/long bed, A-1 shows several single and dual kits and Dynomax shows the same with optional mufflers and a "pipe only" kit. You can also go custom if you don't find one that interests you.

I had the cat back system on my 99. Swapped out the original Turbo muffler for the welded Ultra flow. sounded nice not to loud, the only thing I noticed is somewhere between that and the FIPK i lost the low end, but after about 2600 rpm or so it was a different truck. Mine rotted out, but it was cheaper than the turbo muffler and flowed a lot more. SI/SO, the only way to go in my opinion.

how does the dynomax dual side exit look?? that was the biggest thing holding me back from this system, other than the difference between flow of the ultra flow, and the super turbo mufflers. I think the super turbo is 400 something cfm, and the ultra flow is a little over 1000 cfm, that's quite a difference.
