wire harness

"have to" is a relative term. To fix the cluster's operation, replace any frayed, worn, seperated or naked wires. To fix the issue the RIGHT way, replace the harness. I price a rear ABS harness the other day for a customer and it was 4 wires...$120. Would it be worth it to buy the harness? No. If it is just one wire with an issue, solder a new wire in there, heat-shrink it and plug it in the correct hole with the correct pin/connector and you are good. I am sure your cluster harness would be ridiculously pricy

If you have a shorted wire, my question is why is it "shorted". Is it cut? Does it have voltage on one side? If not, have you smoked a fuse or worse a control unit? Wires that just "short" are very uncommon anymore. And most of the time, just because they are cut, nicked, etc. doesn't mean that something down the line hasn't caught the brunt of it and replacing one wire will alone fix it.

My windshield leaked alot right around the fuse box and the wiring. Water would come in good on the passengers side when it rained hard. Just checked recently and see it is still leaking a little. I felt underneath the insulation and it is wet after raining today. I was told it may be the fusebox itself, but I am just getting some more advice before I take it in.

I have heard that there weren't any issues with the 06's as far as having the windshield leaking. I am thinking maybe it had the windshield replaced at some point. On the top of the drivers side windshield, the rubber or whatever it is on top of the windshield had to be sealed down because it was coming off and then the winshield leaked on the other side. Sounds like it might be an expensive problem. I was thinking about trading it in before this happened. I hope they don't offer me a ton less if I end up trading it in.
