Please help with remote start install

Hi Everyone.... I am new to this site and hope someone can help me. I had a Hornet 564T system installed last week. The guy who installed it said he needed the spare key to get the remote start working but I can do it myself easily. So I picked the truck up after work and have had no luck since getting it to work. The company won't return my calls, but another place that installed a new stereo system in my truck today told me they could get it working for about $100. Something about needing a part to put behind the ignition switch and then programming it. I'm tempted to just bring my truck up to the original place and tell them I;m not leaving until my remote start works, but I really don't want to deal with them anymore due to some other issues I've had with them. Is this something I can do on my own with some direction or should I just suck it up and pay to have it done right? Any help would be appreciated

what the problem is. i may be mistaken. is that your truck has a anti theft system called "PATS" the keys have a chip in them, and that chip has a unique coding so to say. the trucks computer will not allow the truck to start unless it sences that. so what you installer is goin to do is one of two things. zip tie your spare key under the dash close to the ignition, or get a device that can be programmed to mimick that signal for the chip in the key. that will allow the truck to start, as the pats system is getting it;s signal.
hope that helps.

What you need is a bypass kit for the PATS. It is a box that alllows the remote start to interface with the PATS, it uses a wire that wraps around the ignition switch/PTS sensor and a spare key encoded for your vehicle. Normally the box costs about $30.

Do somebody know a way to get rid of the PAT system. I would like to install a bypass module or something to get rid of my PAT system or at least to diagnose if my module is going bad.

My truck is blowing the fuse that go to the PAT module. I traced the wiring trying to find a short with no luck. I'm thinking the PAT module could be shorting out. Where is the module located??????

OK. I already answer my question myself checking a couple things on my truck and doing some research on the past threads about the PAT module issue. I'll be starting another thread on my problem beacuse is a different one.

Thank you guys
