Remote Starter
Remote Starter
Ok i have a remote starter and i dont know why but for some reason it cranks the engine three times and not once does the engine start.
It is like it cranks for not even a full second before stopping and trying again.
I want it to start, but it just doesn't work!!
I dont know what to do to get it to start the engine.
I would like to get this fixed because it is getting quite cold here.
The brand of remote start i have is python, but i couldn't tell ya what model it is.
Thanks for any help!!

Have you had the remote starter actually work be4? If so...sounds like your bypass module is going out..if you've never successfully remote started it...your bypasss module is either not connected correctly, or you don't have 1 in there!
An easy way to tell if your module is jacked is by putting the keys in the ignition in the off position...then remote start it, if it starts, definitely a bypass problem, if u still got probs. w/it, try clicking the key to the run position, but don't start it using the switch, leave it like so and remote start it..if it starts, you have a wiring problem.
There could also be 1 more thing it could be, the tach. u could either use a direct tach signal, or use a voltage signal. I usually use the voltage signal. u said u have python...I have the manual for the 871XP 881XP & 1400XP the 871 and the 881 are basically the same..they have 2-way paging remote that has a green, red, yellow light on the remote itself. the 1400XP has a simple 4 button remote, but it does not have an alarm built in, just keyless entry, it shouldn't cme with a siren . If ure unit has the LCD screen then it's gonna be the 990 or 991..but to program the voltage...
881XP & 871XP: advanced feature #3-2
1400XP: advanced feature #2-2
to get to the advanced features open a door, turn the ignition switch on then back off..push and hold the valet switch until it chirps (1st menu)..continue holding to jump to the next menu (2 chirps)...and so on..then after the menu comes up that u need release and w/in 10 secs push the #of the feature u wish to program then once more, confirm the #of chirps to the menu #..then hit unlock to program voltage engine check..or lock to go back to tach check..
wasn't sure what all info u needed but hope this helps!
