Fog Lights
Fog Lights
I was wondering if someone could help me out with fog light installation on a 98 sc? It doesn't come with factory fogs but the head light switch does pull out. I have some knowledge with electrical but I could use some advice on how to hook them up.
Thanks

im trying to figure this out too on my truck a 97xlt now if your truck is 4x4 like mine the wiring harness should be there if it is 2wd you need to do a lot of mods to get them. look way up under your front bumper the plugs should be on the frame. the fuse should be in the fuse box. my switch pulls out but when i test the plugs there is no power. if your switch says pull for fog lights you should be good but if it doest then you need one that says that because i think that is the final connection in the circuit. go after market on ebay for the lights
My switch doesn't say "pull for fog lights", but it looks like I do have two empty harnesses there. So I would need to get the fog light switch and I'd be in business? No other wiring to do? Just adapt the fog light wires to the factory plug?
that should be it but im not 100% sure take it to ford and c if they say it would work and after that tell me cuz that is what i am hung up on

Bringin this back. Anyone get it to work?...or find the plugs?
I just got a "lightning style" cover with fogs for my 97 and it has the pull-out switch. I am going to look further up behind the wheel well tomorrow, but I thought i'd check with everyone! If its not there is there an easy way to wire them in with the stock switch?

Back when I had my 98 I wanted to do the same thing. I ended up buying the, then available, fog light kit from Ford. That gives you all the necessary parts to wire in the lights. It did include a new switch because the non-fog light switch is not set up for the extra lights.
I'm sure you could go the old fashion way, for a lot less money and agrivation with a toggle switch, relay, wiring and the lamps.

Ya that is what I kinda wanted to do if i have to. On my 1990 Mustang GT there is a write-up I used to do the parking lights + fogs mod, using a simple relay.
Is there a write-up anywhere with wire colors and whatnot?
