What kind of average MPG are you seeing with -8 TC lock and 3-4 shift settings (my 3-4 shift setting will only go to -5)?

Thanks!

I also have another question:

What is everyone using for regular and WOT shift firmness? I have done a lot of searching on here, but couldn't really find an answer...

Thanks!

Kinda weird thing happend today. I changed the wot fuel setting one point
Factory setting was 1.3 so I went to 1.4..this is a 99 F150 4x4 with a 5.4 triton motor.
After the edge was done I started it up. and the idle was horrible....ran like crap..really LUMPY. I shut it down fast. and reset it to normal level 2 (non custom)...never do that again. scared the crap out of me.

I was getting around 16 or so overall. That is with a fair amount of highway and a lot of flat roads. I did this mainly because the majority of my in town driving was at 40 mph. If I drove around at 40 the TC was always locking and unlocking which i did not care for. Changing that moved the TC lock point to around 32 or so which was much better for me personally.

I think for my shift firmness it's very similar to Bluejay's. Maybe +8 +8 +4. that could be wrong but I think that's what I use. Don't remember for regular shift firmness. I think I was happy with the way Bill tuned it. The shift firmness is really up to everyone individually.

Just a note here - "Shift Firmness" on an Edge/Gryphon really only effects the "feel" under WOT acceleration. It changes the delay between clutch band release and lockup during a shift. I would be very reluctant to change it much at all if you have custom tunes. Bill Cohron knows what he is doing and if you make the delay too short, you put stress on the driveline. Too long and you cause wear on the clutch bands. A custom tune has optimized this setting.

Bluejay has said he DID increase the firmness BEFORE he got custom tunes, but left it alone after getting his tunes. I did the same.

Like you, black, I reduced my part throttle shift and TC lock/unlock points to get the truck into overdrive quicker - Tucson city speeds are generally 40-45 mph and of course everyone drives faster.
