ok since i see you guys know what your talking about, i have done stage 2 ported heads and stage 2 comp cams. I have not done fuel injector upgrades so im wondering what i should change my shift firmness, fuel adjustments and MOST IMPORTANTLY, ignition timing? I am running 91/92 currently on level 3 performance setting.

EDIT: Also will need a suggestion on the rev limit, the camshafts new opperating range is 1800 to 5800 rpm. Thanks!

Hopefully you realized that they are talking about canned(generic) tunes that come on the programmer that are good for stock applications.
Whacha got for a tuner now?
Canned or Custom tunes?
If you already have a custom tune weather or not its written for the cams. Its not well recomended to play with the tuner's shift points. You can play with them alittle bit but not a whole lot because they have optimized the best strategies possible for you and your truck and your mods.
So if you don't have a tuner lined up to do the custom tunes for the cams I'd seriously start to look for one.
Plus you may want to start to look into tranny upgrades if you want to run high rpm's.

Yes i know this. But everything ive asked are options that i am able to edit myself. I have the newest Edge Evolution for my 2002 5.4. I dont need a custom tune right now, which ive heard the edge is not going to cut it if i want all my upgrades and mods peaked. But i know i need/can change my spark so right now so thats most important.

OK, you've dropped a 2002 engine into a 99 body, and done some other things. I think you need custom tunes for that mix, and, you're right, the Edge, with it's canned tunes, won't cut it.

If you're running Level 3 and using 91/92 octane gas, the spark is already advanced. You can try advancing it more, in stages - I'd suggest 0.25 degree increments and see how it behaves, but I doubt you'll be able to improve much on the timing.

So the only way i can get a full custom tune file is if the Gryphon upgrade ever comes out or the SCT programmer? Since your here, i am kind of cerious as to a final answer requarding the gryphon upgrade. What exactly is the difference? Ive asked this question before but have heard different things such as, "it allows you to be able to load custom tune files not associated with the factory programmer", as in a tune built specifically for my exact setup. I LOOOVE this edge but do know that the 97-03 gryphon upgrades are no longer avaible due to the connection wire defaulting so what are my options?

The cable issue has been resolved.
You are good to go on getting your edge upgraded to a gryphon.

What 88racing just said, and, if you love the Edge, you'll love the Gryphon better.

omg!!! Where the heak have i been? So i searched there website, and im more or less looking for a price. I already have the edge evo, PHP can take my edge and upgrade it, with the specific custom tune that i need, correct? How much will something like this cost me? I just want 1 performance setting that will get the MOST out of my new compenents using 91/92.

ok lets just say im not good with computers! So can i keep the economy and transmission canned tunes, then have 1 custom performance tune? I can adjust the spark myself for my cams/heads so that wont be a problem. Seems it will only be $100, not bad, not bad!

When you order, give Bill the complete details of what you want to do and he will point you in the RIGHT direction. Preferably call and talk to him, I will warn you now that he's a pretty busy guy! Leave a voice mail if you can't get ahold of them or just keep on trying.
