Adjusting your tune for the Ethanol content of your local fuel should not be that big of an issue. I'm surprised to hear that at the time of your order, Thumper didn't ask you what percentage Ethanol was in your local gas. I guess he just forgot since he was so excited about wrapping up your free t-shirt in tissue paper.

When I ordered custom tunes about a year ago, I had to fill out some pain in the ***, multi-page questionnaire. A certain un-named custom tune writer now knows my mother's maiden name, my blood type, if I've ever engaged in unprotected sex, my shoe size..........and the percentage of Ethanol in my local gas. Believe me. I'll never forget it. I had to research it by calling the California Air Resources Board, getting put on hold, being disconnected, having to call back, leave messages, et cetera. Finally, Governor Schwarzenegger called me back to confirm that CA has 5.7% Ethanol.

The majority of ethanol-blended gasoline in California currently contains 5.7 percent ethanol, resulting from the state legislature's decision to be the first in the nation to ban the gasoline oxygenate methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in late 1999. California refiners make a variety of gasoline formulae, which must meet the state air board's most current emissions regulations. According to CARB spokesman Dimitri Stanich, the completion of the air board's new predictive model, a tool based on complicated mathematical equations developed by CARB and used by refiners to forecast emissions from California passenger vehicles, allows refiners to adjust their particular formulae to accommodate higher blends of ethanol. Stanich said CARB's mid-June ruling was a direct result of California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) decreed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger by executive order in January.

ETHANOL (also know has Ethyl Alcohol or Grain Alcohol, chemical formula CH3CH2OH) is a liquid produced mostly via fermentation and distillation processes from sugar and starch crop feedstock. Advanced processes for producing ethanol from agricultural, forestry and municipal wastes and residues are under development. Ethanol has been used in the U.S. as a gasoline octane enhancer and oxygenate since the 1970s when federal energy tax policy was enacted to encourage domestic production and use of this fuel.

As of January 1, 2004, California completed a transition from methyl tertiary butyl-ether (MTBE) to ethanol as a gasoline oxygenate additive. With most gasoline sold in the state presently containing 5.7 percent ethanol, California is now the largest ethanol fuel market in the United States. About one billion gallons of ethanol are expected to be used in the state's gasoline supply in 2004.

The Energy Commission continues to study the potential for ethanol fuel production and use as part of California's overall strategy to assure adequate transportation energy supplies and reduce dependence on petroleum. In addition to its use as a gasoline blending component, ethanol can also be used as E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) in flexible fuel vehicles being produced by automakers.

Most of California's current ethanol supply comes from the Midwest U.S. corn-based industry, with a small supply contribution from foreign imports. There are only two small producers of ethanol in California today; however, a number of projects for expanded in state ethanol production are under consideration.

well i only read the first post and vmp's first post and it quickly reminded me of my vmp experience, at wot it sounded BAD i mean it sounded like it was running way lean, i told justin he said there is no way a tune can change the way an engine sounds......so he told me to do a datalog and what do you know he sent me a new tune followed by the statement "try this tune if it still is not right do another datalog" with that tune my truck went into failsafemode at 110mph but went back to normal after a few seconds of being off the gas, sent an email with my log and no response, tryed emailing 2 other times, nothing, called left a message, nothing, sent a new email that wasnt a response to his previous emails and got a response saying he would look at it, ....no response, left a post on here and he said he couldnt help me with out my order number or name or email so i left all that in the post and nothing,.............

man i loved the low end power of my vmp tune and the shifting but had no top end power and im pretty sure it was not runnig right at all, i understand that i have an uncomin intake (jlt) but he said that wasnt a problem but after the first tune i had to email a pic of the intake....

driving 110...that's just plain stupid, illegal, and dangerous. What happens when you get a blowout at that speed and slide into a family of 5...I know, your tires would never give out at high speed right? I have a supercharger and custom tunes but never get above 80-85 and that's only on a clear road with no weather/trafic/etc...Supercharger are not for speed but for response and quick accelleration used to stay safe. Driving 110 makes no sense and is just idiocy.

Fuel quality seems to have gotten much worse this winter. If anyone has outstanding issues, I would love to take care of them, but I can't look them up without your real name, order #, or email address. When I send out updated tune files, the emails can be 2-5mb, so they will sometimes bounce back due to a full mailbox.

Hey Justin, I have sent you a couple of emails with some dyno data regarding some A/F ratios.
