Power right after tune, Then gone - EDGE

Im wondering if anyone else has noticed that right after you tune your truck, then start it, It feels amazing (Awsome throttle response, lots of power) But around 30 seconds after you start it, the power goes away and back to normal....

Anyone know what is causing this???

Me too. it will "calm down" a bit if you are driving it like an old fart, that is the adaptive strategy. However, he indicates 30 seconds, not after a period of driving.

"around 30 seconds after you start it, the power goes away "

that's got to be a typo some how, because in only 30 seconds you can't check throttle response, etc

Hey, he could be making 1 1/2 passes at the drag strip!

No Typo... Just tune your truck.. And right after its finished, start the truck, put it into drive and feel how responsive the throttle is. Do it quickly, it will go away after it calms down

No, I think you're just getting used to it. The vehicle will always feel really fast soon as you tune the vehicle, same as when the battery is disconected. It's just part of the adaptive tuning of the vehicle. The vehicle shouldn't be "losing" power in 30 seconds. Maybe a few days, but not in 30 seconds.

not true; my 93 performance tune feels as fresh as day one. If yours don’t, try getting a real one

It also does this when you flash it back to stock

Yup, I agree with Thumper on this. You and the PCM are getting used to each other after any "retune".

As an aside, I remember when I "test drove" my truck last year when I bought it (a private sale from someone else in Tucson). I just "touched" the gas pedal and it seemed to "leap" forward. Stopped doing that soon after I drove it a few times. Maybe I was "touching" it a bit hard at first?
