Truck runs poor after going back to stock with EDGE.

I have ran a light tune on lvl2 on the edge evolution for about 5 months. My 4 wheel drive was having issues so I had to take it back to the dealer and of course I went back to stock and took the edge completely out. My truck studders now when I go from 1/4 throttle to 1/2 or 3/4 throttle. Sometimes it does not start moving for a good couple seconds. It also feels as if it is getting stuck in 2nd gear instead of shifting to 3rd when I put my foot into it. EDGE told me my PCM had to relearn the stock program but I have drove it about 50 miles and it has not got better at all. Has anyone else had this problem? If so about how many miles untill will relearn? The truck has less than 20,000 miles on it and is kinda freekin me out.

i wouldnt count on the "relearn" process... Sounds like you are having some issues with the transmission. If you are not out of warranty, id have it checked on....

does it feel like 2nd to 3rd is almost slipping?

I'm confused. Are you having problems with the factory tune or the tune from Edge? If it's the factory tune, it sounds normal.

Wow thanks for all the replies! I still remember how my truck drove before the edge though. The studder when I throttle up I can hear in the cab. This whole thing gets worse though....the first time I went back to stock all the alerts on the edge went off and it said my engine temp was at 1200 degrees and I could barely get through the intersection at half throttle because of the "studder". I pulled over and put it back on lvl2 and it was fine. By the way that was after about 1 mile of driving from a cold start, and the temp gauge on the dash was maybe 130 degrees. The second time I tried to go to stock I had the same studder so I went to lvl2 again and it was fine...this is the third time going to stock and it is still screwed up, I am lost.

It goes into 3rd and revs real high and lurches into overdive on the stock tune.

Yeah I might have to have it reflashed it still is under warranty. I hope they can't tell I had the EDGE on it though because I am sure that will void the waranty. If I ever get it fixed that EDGE is not going back on my truck though.

Why not disconnect the battery for a half hour or so. Shouldn't that reset the PCM enough to start with a fresh stock program.

Also, I've noticed with this adaptive stuff, everytime I fill up with gas it changes things a bit. I got a tune from VMP while I'm waiting for Troyer tunes and it seems like after 2 fill ups with gas it got snappier after each fill up. I wonder if the PCM sees the tank top up and uses it as a mile stone and implements some of what it's learned in the last week or so.

If its your stock tune, your wheels are throwing the computer off. For one day try using lvl 1 on the Edge and adjust for the tire size and see if that works.
