PCM Module on my truck has been replaced and have a question
Well its been almost 7 weeks and still my truck is broke down.
I wont go into details but Ford replaced my PCM Module on my truck. I have an Edge tuned by Bill. Will I need to have it retuned or make any adjustments when hooking my Edge back up if my truck ever gets fixed??
Thanks!

If you returned the PCM to Level 0 before you took the truck in, the Edge should recognize the new PCM with no problem. Then, it should be able to reprogram that PCM to whatever tune you want for it. I'm assuming here that nothing else in the truck was changed since you had the programmer out.
If it were me, I'd plug it in (with the ignition key ON, of course, and see what happens. At this point, it's just acting like a monitor and is not actively "messing" with the program in the PCM. If things seemed to be working all right at this point, I'd try entering a new program and take it for a drive.
If it doesn't seem to initialize with the new PCM, then you may have to get the Edge "unlocked". I don't really see this as happening though as long as it had been returned to Level 0.
Of course, talking to Bill first is certainly a cautious approach and there's nothng wrong with that either.

I have the same problem as you, and I know its not the PCM-pretty much makes sense your still broke down.
If you can check the Temp with your EDGE, and it reads right, then you dont need a CHT, or PCM-its in the cluster. Your mechanic is reading straight out of the manual, and there are TWO options. Replace PCM & Replace cluster. But MY A/C is out too, and that is programmed into the "build" portion of the cluster-and all of this happened after adjusting some user options on my LiveWire.

Dude its crazy I'll try and make a long story short.
My trucks temp gauge pegged out to HOT and the check gauge warning came on. However it doesnt seem to be running HOT. But when this happens it cuts power to the motor buy knocking out 4 of the cylinders because the truck thinks its running hot. So I cant drive it.
P1285 Code. (CHT)
The dealer ship cant find the problem so are just replacing stuff. The extendad warranty company doesnt want to pay them for the work theyve done since it hasnt fixed the issue and getting VERY expensive which I dont blame them. Ive had a rental car for 3 weeks now. The last I heard with parts and labor around $2,000. They called me yesterday and asked If they could change the plugs thinking its giving a false reading to the coil pack making a bad reading to the Teampture gauge!
The reason they asked was replacing the plugs will not be covered under the warranty. There only chargeing me $197.00 to change all 8! With the plug issues with the newer trucks and that price told them to change them.
They've replaced the CHT, 8 Coil Packs, PCM, Plugs and some other stuff.
There bringing in a TECH specialist in the shop Monday.
They now asked me for a list of all my mods and Im sure they may try and blame it on one of them probably.
I removed my edge before taking it to the shop and set it back to stock.
Im really pist at this point!

SuperSlabCab please check your PM we need to talk if your having this same problem. My dealer said they called and looked up everything they have and cant find the fix or why this is happening.
I just finished reading your post above my Edge is showing my tempture reading high. They said they replaced my CHT. SO i said so you took the intake manifold off the truck. She said no its right behind the alternator. Then something about knowing a special trick to get to it not having to remove the manifold. I didnt say anything but you have to take the manifold off the truck to replace the CHT on the newer tucks my manual shows!!
So do you think its the cluster? I know they havnt removed that yet. Also Over a year ago they had to remove the cluster to do some other work on the Vent flap that kept getting stuck.
How would that of effected your cluster???

One good thing - if they replaced the PCM, I think they've just lost any way of knowing you ever used a programmer!
And, if they've replaced the PCM and the CHT sensor, and the problem's still there, it almost sounds like a wiring problem between the sensor and the PCM. Or maybe some problem in the temp gauge or temp gauge circuit? I can't see how the plugs or coil packs could have anything to do with your problem!

F150FX,
I tried every way to remove the CHT without taking off the manifold, its impossible. I took off mine and replaced the CHT last Saturday-per the dealer recommendation.
The reason I did it myself, was to avoid what your going through exactly. I doubted their conclusion, and they wanted me to sign-up, so that the cash flow would start coming, while they just guess at possible remedies-all the while nickel and dime-ing me.
If your Edge is showing your temp is HIGH, then there are only two places that is coming from, your CHT, or your PCM.
BUT-I did read here about Cluster Swaps, and people being concerned about going into Fail-safe mode. I'm pretty sure if your cluster reads OVERHEAT, it sends the message back to the PCM to go into fail-safe.
In my case, the temp guage stays pegged on L, and the CHECK GAUGES message appears, with a methodic beep. The difference is that my Livewire reads the correct temp, and fluctuates as well, depending on driving conditions. That means that the CHT is working, the PCM is working, but the cluster which needs to convert that info is corrupt (READ:Your problem may be here as well). I lost my A/C compressor clutch @ the same time. Knowing that the A/C type is programmed into the cluster, I think my cluster has lost its identity....
Which leads to why I think User adjusted settings are what caused the problem. I used the LW for two months with no problem. Then I updated it, and gained access to User settings, and changed the axle ratio to 4.10, and also wheel revolutions per mile, which calibrates the speedo.
My next problem-No temp gauge, no A/C Clutch.
SCT sent me a clean STOCK file, and that did not change things.
I read some posts on this forum about Edge users having issues after changing User settings....Hmmm.

Thanks SuperSlabCab!
So my dealer is pretty much full of ***** when they said they didnt have to remove the manifold to get to the CHT to replace it?
My Manual it shows it it has to be removed also
coped at pasted from my dealers e-mail when i asked about how they replaced my cht.
when i was on the phone she said he was able to get his hands behind the alternator to replace it.

Mike,
This is the part that we replaced. With Jamie's previous experience, he found a way to replace the cht sensor without removing the intake.

I was able to remove a bracket over the alternator, and get my hand on it, and I bought $50 worth deep well metric sockets thinking I could grip it, but the best I could do was put a box end metric on it. There was way too much motor and manifold to even give it a 1/16th turn.
They're full of it.
Besides, your original sensor was good. How would you know it wasn't? They just want to get paid for failing...
I didn't completely take the manifold off, I left the pressurized fuel rail attached (for obvious reasons), but I still couldn't do anything with the CHT until I got the manifold about 5 inches above the motor-then I could turn the wrench.
