I purchased my X-Cal 2 today from VMP Tuning, and have a Borla Pro-XS on the way too. I am very freaking excited! Is the flash tuner plugged into the the truck's computer by usb, or what? I honestly have no idea...

look under your trucks dash just under the right of the steering wheel, the programmer plugs into that.

The Xca2/3 will just plug into the ODBII port underneath the dash of the steering wheel. You'll see it once you get under there.

Are there still any bugs to be worked out with the XCal3? I'm ready to get one, but I'm not sure I need all the extra features...I realize it's not that more expensive than the XCal2, but if I don't need the features, why get them?

The firmware issues have been fixed in the Xcal3 but if you don't need the features than get the Xcal2.

I'd give Justin at VMP Tuning a call and see what he recommends.

I would of expected it to be about VMP but you can never be 100% sure. I didn't want to answer that for VMP and you be talking about Troyer, which people have been talking abuot in that thread. Anyways, it completely depends on how busy he is ... A good time frame to expect is 2-3 weeks. Do you have a Xcal2 or do you need the unit as well?

Do you have the unit or no? I'm not Justin so I can't answer that.

Do you know the strategy code of the PCM of your vehicle? Unless you know, usually a tuner will have to send the device to you, without tunes, so you can check the code and email them the code. After that they can write you the tunes and than email them to you to load onto the device.
