I run @ 5300rpm on all shifts.
I would even go lower, but that means my downshifts get further apart, and i don't want that.

The 4.6L doesn't make as much power in the upper RPM range as the 5.4L. Let me rephrase that... the power curve drops off sooner on the 4.6L than it does on the 5.4L. For this reason, I generally don't like to run the RPMs as high on the 4.6L because it doesn't really help.

With the vehicle being a 2001, you are also at a slight disadvantage as 97-03 models are about 10-15 HP shy of the later models.

Anyway, I usually go about 4900 on the 1-2 and 2-3 and about 4650 on the 3-4. You aren't too far off with what you have but you might lose a little trying to run out the top end of the RPM range.

Hope this helps.

Ah, once again my brain has escaped me. I am looking over it now and will have something in a bit.

Hey Polpilot, I have the 4.6L with that bull$h|t 3.08 too and I have ordered my 3.73s. Please tell me what kind if difference you felt driving around town , taking off, and passing on the highway. Additionally did your in town mileage go up if you drive it easy? I'm excited because I have not encountered anyone here on the forum with the same engine/rearend setup as me that went to 3.73s. I don't want 4.10s, it seems too steep.
What are your critiques since you made the change?

Okay, I compared the calibrations v21 vs.v28 and came up with only a couple of differences. They were basically centered around Open Loop Delay and I changed them to help resolves the shudder issues. They shouldn't have had that big of an effect on your power level though.

If you want to give it a try, I can send you the v21 calibration and see if you get the power back. I don't really see how it should make that big a difference, but I'm game if you are.

Let me know.

Yes lets try that. Also whenever it stops raining and possibly snowing this weekend I can test that and a few custom settings. Also I have a K&N drop in filter on order if that will make a difference in any of the settings.

So what was the outcome from your comparison of the 2 calibrations?

I dropped the ball on that one. I never did get him the calibrations. KY, if you're still interested, give me a shout and I'll get them to you and see if the power comes back.
