Thanks MGD!

There is also an area in the PCM reserved, where the stock tune file lives.

The first action you take (rather, the Xcal2 takes), is to copy the stock tune file from the PCM to the Xcal2.

Next step, if you are gonna be loading a new tune, is the PCM reserved NVM space is erased, and the KAM is cleared (where the adaptive strategy stuff lives).

Next, the selected new tune file is written - a straight file write, with attendant sanity ( CRC, whatever) checks to ensure a reliable write.

Now - if you wanna load yet another tune - it's just a repeat of the erase/write/check process.

They're really just files - in a different format, but still just files. Bit for Bit replacement.

Kinda simplistic, but there it is.

Thanks again MGD! As always you are wealth of information. sorry I didn't respond sooner. Had to work late again, that's how I passed the time waiting for my tunes.

Your situation REALLY sucks and hopefully you'll get them the first part of next week, but as everyone has stated on this forum they are worth the wait!

Maybe mSaLL should read this thread. It's gotten so long that by the time he's done his tunes will be in his e-mail . The wait does suck, but the tunes are worth the wait!!

Well, it's been a few days and have been running the 87 perfomance tune and have been very impressed! Noticed as the more I run the truck the better it gets. Shifting is smoother, truck is running smoother and acceleration is awsome!! So far I am 100% pleased with this tuner and very happy I made this investment for my truck. Would HIGHLY recommend this tuner to anyone who is looking to purchase one!

I think the "5-8 week wait" can be officially changed to "10-12 week wait.

My order is 'in line at the tuining desk as at 5th july' so this thursday I'll be 11 weeks.

I've been watching Gotts2BMe case his was 30th June so I should be 1 week after him!!!

Im not complaining but surley if they are this popular and there seems to be a good demand, their P.R. skills are good (they do answer the phone and Anita sounds HOT ). . . . . . why not get rid of this Hick-up in the system???

The wait does SUCK!! Got mine 2 months 1 day after turning sheets in, or 9 weeks. I do feel the pain you guys are going through, and I hope you get them soon because they are definitely worth the wait! You could always cancel and order from somewhere else, though that may prolong getting any tunes any time sooner. All I can say is good luck to you guys and let us know when you get them!!

Now I do feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas. What kind of tunes did you guys order. Since I am not going to be doing a lot of towing, I just went with a 87 performance, 93 performance, and a 93 economy. I have a feeling I am never going to use the 93 economy tune though. What other good tunes do they do?
