Distilled water doesn't have any minerals in it, which means you don't have to dry your truck and you won't get waterspots.

Problem is if you need to find a place that sells distilled water or you need to distill it yourself. You then need a tank to carry the water to your house and a pump to pump the water for you to spray it.

I don't use distilled water. If I lived in a hot, dry climate where drying a vehicle before waterspots started was a problem, then I would consider it. Otherwise, drying your truck after you wash it is perfectly fine.

It doesn't have to be distilled water. It can be deionized or reverse osmosis water too. RO water would be cheaper.

Tks guys for the info, yes it can get expensive and seem unpractical if you have to buy at the store. Maybe if my truck was newer I would use it, but it's gettin kinda up there still a good truck though Tks again guys, I'm still open to all suggestions

Hi F150

Thats a good question and would work.

Like Intel says...could be an expensive hassle.

Hey Dennis I see your aware of that RO water treatment. Did you ever see that ad sometime ago for a RO water filter attachment you hook up to hose?

It made for a streak free shine...car/windows etc. No toweling..wiping etc...price? As i recall it was under $40.00 but when i called the mfg....Question: How much water would it filter before plugging...forgot exact answer...but said it would probably last about 5 car washes.

Sure was a good idea..but thought to much $$ for no longer than it lasted. It wasnt around long.

I think our local DIY car washes here use RO water on one of the rinse cycles. It comes out real slow..eats up the minutes..but does a descent job on not leaving alot of water spots. Our climate is real dry here..Washing at home...man im tired after washing/drying my truck...water dries just that fast. So you have to be faster

Just tried Blue Coral Wash/Wax, not bad.

Good luck...OT
