Long story but my wifes car needed some serious help. Ok, not a Ford....forgive me.

Despite the rain I decided to take the task on yesterday.

(Time Check, 7 PM CST)
My process:
Removed all wheels, cleaned outside and inside with Megs All Purpose cleaner, 4:1. Then sprayed the wheel wells with the same. Let that soak then wiped down. Dried and applied HyperDress to wheel wells. Put wheels back on.

Cleaned engine bay with Megs cleaner, same ratio 4:1. Dried and treated with Hyperdress.

Washed with NXT wash, 2 bucket method, dried with Meg Water Mag and MF towels

Clayed car, top to bottom using Megs Blue Clay and Final Inspection

Then taped off all the trim using blue painters tape

Now the fun begins:
Used ScratchX on problem areas, and entire hood, using DA (DA for all steps below)
Megs #80 entire car, MF towel off
Megs #7 entire car, MF towel off
Megs #21 entire car, MF towel off
S100 entire car, 2 coats. That stuff is amazing. (Time check, 4:00 AM CST)
Showerd and went to bed.

(Time check 10 AM CST SAT)
Used Hyperdress along the bottom skirt trim
Megs Trim Shine on window trim etc
Stoner's InvisiGlass on windows and chrome wheels
Hyperdress on wheels applied with rag
Megs Plastic Shine on Corners and head lights
Final Inspection wipe down to one last time
(Finished, 12 PM CST Sat )

Looks good. I was going to wash my truck this morning. Glad I didnt because it has rained twice today and it looks like more rain. I'm sick of this rain. It has rained almost everyday for 2 months and it looks like its going to screw up the 4th.

 

Tell me about it....I am just up the road from you in Keller...told the wife if she dove the car, it would be her last time.

Her car has been in the garage except for pictures.

looks great.... however... it almost seems criminal to spend that much time and apply so many layers on a white car. In my experience a decent wash and wax is all white ever needs, unless you're buffing out scratches.

I love detailing my cars so much, I've made sure my last 3 were darker colors that could really reflect the work I put into them.

 

Yeah, it was a tad overkill. The sun actually came out today for about an hour then all hell broke loose again. I pulled the car out and looked at. So many scratches...argh, all that work and yet, still needs more attention. Will have to wait until I get motivated to do it again.

Bought tires for her car today. OUCH. Not too many choices in 235/65/17's

Thanks RP...just got your email...may need to send you a detailed photo...there are some things in the paint that didn't come out and it has me scratching (pardon the pun) my head.

the Pacifica looks great .. Nice shine on the white.

 

i'm about to order a new toy and i am ordering it in a dark charcoal so i can really set it off when i detail it!

 

Looks amazing. May be overkill to some, but not for me. I think the goal is to make the vehicle look as new and protected as possible. Looks like it just rolled off the assembly line

I hope your wife is not like mine. I spend a weekend detailing her Xterra, put it to sleep all clean in the garage that night. She goes off to work on Monday, vehicle looks mint.....I come home Monday night and what a disaster. I cant figure out how she does it. Does she look for puddles or all the dusty shoulders on the side of the road????

 

If she's anything like my wife, the answer would be, "Yes!"
