Just wanted to let everyone know that after 2.5 years baking in the FL sun that my cowl is pretty much shot. All that nice looking paint has recently peeled and chipped away. It looked great while it lasted, but this is definitely not a long-term fix. Looks like I'll probably just order a new one since I still plan on keeping my truck for quite a while.
How is anybody elses holding up?

Cowl is still good but my bedrails have recently started to flake and peel. It actually looks so bad I just don't look back when I get out of my truck. I just need to do the same as you and order a new set.

I think I'll do this to my truck soon. My very washed out wiper cowl has been bothering me alot recently. And I have a can of Krylon Fusion Satin black sitting in the garage right now anyway. So might as well right?

clean it well with a plastic bristle brush, then put this on it

in a day or two rinse the plastic and reapply, then don't touch it again until next year.

$7 can of spray paint sounds alot better on the pocket than a $60 bottle though.

That does seem like a much better price now.

Took my cowl off today and got some spray paint and clear, painting it tomorrow morning. Although has anyone else had the little plastic piece on the edges of the cowl break? Both of mine were extremely brittle and just broke off. Felt like it was a bit unfortunate but really nothing I can do about it now.

That little tooth in the wiper arm is the most annoying thing ever. Had to take the cowl off I think 10 times because it kept falling off into it when I went to reinstall everything!

But my paint job was a success , thanks for the write up! I'll edit this post with a picture tomorrow afternoon when I get a picture better than what I have on my phone at the moment.

Nice write up, I'm going to attempt to do mine this weekend. I'll try and post pics once completed.

I did my cowl two weekends ago, came out sweet (except I lost one of the push down corner clips, it fell into the abyss that is my engine bay, never to be seen again..lol). I snapped a good after pic but the upload keeps failing, not sure why)

Pics must be posted from an internet hosted site. Something like Photobucket or even an album in your profile on this site. If you are experiencing failure trying to upload to your albums, then most likely the pic is too large and needs to be resized to 800x600.
