2001 screw 04+ mirror swap

So the dads got an 01 screw and towing the snowmobiles back from Michigan today in the rain and fog I couldn't see jack in the mirrors. I'm wondering if I can swap on 04+ regular turn signal mirrors that have just simply bigger glass. I've been doing some research and will the expys mirrors fit? I don't want big tow mirrors. All I want to do is see more.

Would be an interesting swap, however the squared out mirrors will not match the smooth curves of the '97/'03 body. I know they look goofy but I would get a set of clip-on extensions for your towing needs.

The expy ones will work, not f150 though. I'm not sure if you can get the slip one ones for screw/expy as they are different from the other f150 mirrors.

I've seen it done before. Requires work to the mirror housing to fit the door stencil, and then paint to match your truck.

But that was custom trucks with the lincoln navi clip and show status paint. I'd just look for a set of extensions like Darren mentioned.

Any year expy/navi should theoretically work. No idea on plug and play.

Being two different generations I highly doubt it will be plug and play.

The expy/navi mirrors will bolt right up to the pre 04 supercrew since they used the same expy front door and the expy mirror mount hasn't changed. I believe the wiring male and female plugs will plug in but if I'm not mistaken you have to move a few pins on either the mirror or the truck. There was a guy on here that did it to a pre 04 truck and he posted up pics on the swap. I would suggest searching the site, I remember he posted about the wiring.
The truck 04+ mirrors will NOT BOLT ON.
The pattern is different and they mount higher in the doors center line when compared to the expy navi (and similarly the old supercrew)

I know cause I did the opposite. I swapped navi mirrors in my 06 and nothing lined up. I had to fabricate adapter brackets and custom mold the backing plate that goes flush with the door.
