ford tailgate emblem!

Hey everyone. My tailgate ford emblems clearcoat is peeling completely off and the blue paint behind the clear is chalky and rubs on your fingers if you touch it. I want that hideous badge off and want a billet one or some kind of badge that won't peel. Anyone know where I can find a good quality badge. Preferably not painted! Thanks, nic.

As for billet, you would need to make it or have it made.

Otherwise ... Possibly removing the emblem from a hitch cover .....

*Solid billet aluminum ( ebay find ).

If you're just going for a chrome look, remove badge, wipe it down good w/ acetone, & reinstall. Acetone will take the original clear & paint right off, leaving the brite chrome finish. Did that w/ my front grill badge. It was flaking & peeling also. Worked great & was cheap! I have since sprayed over it w/ Niteshade. The chrome badge just didn't fit my trucks look.

Remund150,

We can design a vinyl emblem overlay for you. Please send me a pm if you are interested. Looks great and easy to install.

Remove the clear and paint and just get a vinyl overlay in whatever color you want.

What can you do with FX4 BLACKOUT, can you do the decals for that? If so how much? Will need one for each side.

You can go to the dealership and get a new one. Had to do it a few months ago for my front badge. Real easy to replace.

Take it off completely & leave it off, get a body shop to repair the space left. Thats what I would do if I could.
