Cool 2001 Projector Retrofit

Ordered my retrofit projector kit tonight from TRS. Hoping to have it next week, but probably won't go in immediately. Between work and school, I'm pretty swamped, but it will be a small piece by piece puzzle.

I will definitely be following Thomas_w's write up.

Now let's see how many more people we can get to jump on the bandwagon.

Well I won't argue.

I'm pretty stoked about it. Just have to brush up on some skills before I try to pull anything off. :o

What do you have planned for your setup darkshadow?

They're already done. Look at my sig. I bought the kit from Retro-solutions http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/ser...ETROFIT/Detail
I liked how it had the 7 color led backlighting, something different. Besides, I have yet to find a set of pre-made projector lights that I remotely like, they all look tacky to me. I painted all the chrome black in my headlights except for the large reflectors and I also tinted the parking light reflectors.

Not trying to hijack your thread bud but you're the one that asked about my setup.

nah, it's cool. I have looked at your sig before, but I was on my phone on the mobile site, which doesn't show sigs, that's why I didn't put 2 and 2 together. haha

I fail.

^Large projector because the small one doesn't have the backlighting. Red backlighting in my sig. I don't have devil eyes, didn't even realize until I posted the link that I could have got them but I probably would not have anyway.

NICE! What K of bulbs did you go with?

SHADOW: Looks good! Did you do it yourself? If so did you take any pictures of your progress?

I got the 35w 4300k bulbs. Thought about upping to a 50w 5000k setup, but decided the 35 would be enough. If I want upgrade later, I can always do that.

*small, but fairly irrelevant update. I baked open my corners tonight, but followed the wrong instructions, so now I have to order a new set. Good thing I have a spare set of headlights on the truck.

you dont want to go higher than 200* plastic begins to melt at 270*

8-10 mins @ 200* is enough to soften the glue enough to pry it open with your fingers
