Step 1 is thus complete. The glare shields are removed, and the lenses are fine this time.

And I will be getting a new set of black corners from expedition4x4 this evening after I'm out of class, and will go ahead and get those opened up as well.

Are you serious? For the 04-08 lights you have to bake 10 mins at 250 and pry the living crap out of the lights to get them open. My first light I had to bake 5 times to get it to where I could pry it the rest of the way open with my fingers. Second light took 3 times in the oven.

SHADOW: Looks good! Did you do it yourself? If so did you take any pictures of your progress?
I did the lights myself. I have only a few pictures of the progress though. I worked on them an hour here, couple hours there whenever I had some extra time. I started the whole project at the beginning of August, got my projector kit in September and then finished everything up at the beginning of this month. That tells you how much free time I really have. I'll try to find some pics though.

Lookin good Dirtyd! That's just the beginning.

yeah 8 mins and you can start off the 97-03 heads with a screwdriver and if it cools too fast, another minute or two and you can easily pull it apart, like a cheesy pizza

Yeah, but I'd advise to get the Gatling Gun shrouds. Since our buckets are so deep, it will cover most of the projector.

I plan on going to a get a dremel sometime this week.

And thanks shadow! I know it's going to be a fun experience.

I also got the corners last night and baked open. I had an idea for a neat little tweak to add to the reflectors, but I will post more about that later.

It will be interesting to see what people will add to the retrofit. Demon eyes are easy to add if you want to wire up some LED's. I wish I had more time with mine to add some more stuff to them.

I'm doing nothing more. Just plain old looking projectors.

Forgive me, but I simply could not resist...

Perhaps it's the camera angle, or my completely exhausted & overworked gourd, but that pic reminds me of a certain Proctologist from 'Cannonball Run' (a classic) ...

Gee thanks MGD. They are mounted the exact same in each light and I have not aimed them or anything yet. I thought it was a nice little project to do that nobody else has done yet and I know they are not perfect but I like them. "You get what you pay for", but I am not willing to pay anyone else for something I can do.
I'm surprised you didn't have anything to say about the 2wd Tracker with the expensive tires that I have parked beside my truck. lol
