First truck. 15 years old. Help please.
I'm a mechanical engineer doing mostly civil engineering work, railroad related.
But about 3-4 months a year I go out in the field to do underwater inspection work, mostly piers, wharves, bulkheads and other waterfront structures for the Navy, various Port Authorities, Oil companies, etc. The above pic is from NYC. Here is looking towards downtown.

Generally speaking, you don't hafta be an engineer to do that type of work.
This is where I got my basic commercial dive training: http://www.minnesotacommercialdiving.com/
If you complete that course you'd be qualified to go out and work as an offshore diver for the oil rigs or something like that. If you wanted to make the big $$$ you could learn to weld underwater. Hopefully next year I'll go to a program that will teach the basics of that too.

Ahah i don't work. I get my permit in two weeks. My parents bought it for me for like $7,500. My dad might buy the stereo and speakers for christmas for me but like rims, tires, tints, and lift kit will be my money so will gas of course. Imma start working somewhere soon and save my money. Once i get a job i think i have to pay 1/3 of insurance and when i get more money then half but idk for sure.
Oh and we had a toyoto truck that has 400,000 miles on it and it had little maintnence. I heard trucks last for a long time with little things like air filter changing and stuff.
Reece, here is how it works, there are alot of opinions here as you have found out.
Congratulations on your parents buying the truck for you, I think it's great.
You sound like a kid who apreciates it, so that is good.
Remember this though, EVERYTHING COMES WITH A PRICE. That being said you now have a job, proving yourself worthy of such a gift from your parents, not just to them but to others around you!
That means responsability in every sense of the word. Wanna mod the truck-go for it,
wanna abuse it and act like a spoiled little snot, then give it back right now. I would like to think that if you screw up then Dad will take it away.
You are 16 or soon to be, so remember what you do with it, to a certian degree, reflects on your parents.
Make them proud!
If all this sounds like it's comming from an old coot...well it is.
My parents bought my first bicycle for me, I bought everything after that. They "loaned" me a car for about 3-4 months when I was in H/S so I didn't have to ride my motorcycle to school in the rain and could save up for a car. I think it was one of the best things they did for me (make me pay my way).
Anyhoo, sorry for the long post. Enjoy your truck and post pics and cruise the site often!

Aha yea i do appreciate it and your completely right. They only thing i would do with my truck badly is go moderate mud riding if you know what i mean. Nothing bad and i would clean it up after...mud stuck on truck aint good for them.
Hey, I didn't have to buy the hat, so it's kinda like I'm sponsored!
And it's not a logo, but equipment I use... I purposefully didn't use this sticker:

I'll admit, I do have one "logo" type sticker on my truck, but odds are nobody here will know what/who it is without looking it up.

All I can picture are rides like this:

You need to either host the picture in your gallery on this website, or upload it to photobucket or something other hosting site. Then copy the web address for the picture and put around the address.
