First truck. 15 years old. Help please.
This and maybe put in a stereo if you wanna hook up your ipod or something.
Should only be ~$50 for tint, ~$100 for muffler swap, and ~$100-125 for a decent stereo.
I would't spend too much money now.

Don't waste your money. You have an old truck that probably won't last past high school, definitely not past college. Just save your money for when you're ready to buy a vehicle of your own.
Really? No Fear stickers? Trying to bring by the 90's all by yourself eh? Also, if you can't afford to do a retrofit, don't throw HIDs into your stock headlights, it blinds the hell out of oncoming traffic, especially when installed on a taller vehicle like a truck. Have at least a shred of respect for your fellow motorists and skip the HIDs. If you really need more light, install some off-road lights that can be turned off while you're on the road.

Hey, not all of us "young uns" get everything handed to us. I bought a brand new truck in '08 and had it paid for in less than 3 years (yes the math works out if you start ahead of time). You'd be suprised at how some mods can be really cheap if you shop around and haggle. My truck as is, even counting the $800 in new tires, is just now getting to the original msrp. But I'm not gonna lie, it is getting closer to an overdone riced level. But makes those tailgate parties so much more awesome.
Cool it, he might not remember much of the 90's. But the off road lights for improved lighting is a great tip. Mine have helped me avoid countless 50 mph animal encounters on backroads when nobody was around.

@OP - I have to agree with NCSU here the only upgrades I would do to the truck, if I were you. Would be things that could move to your next vehicle (new HU, etc.) But it's your truck and I know how you feel I was the same way when I got my first ride. But in time you'll realize that alot of the crap that's cool in HS. Will stay that "cool in HS" not the real world.

It doesn't matter how much he remembers, (and if he's still in HS, probably not much) but No Fear stickers went out of style a decade ago. I don't understand why people want to put crap like that on their vehicles anyways unless they're sponsored by that company. Salt Life and Monster seem to be the new No Fear these days. I think it's pretty lame if you have to use a company logo to express yourself.
Maybe I should get a big old Coca-Cola logo and throw it on my back window, I'll be cool then right? After all, it's one of the most widely known logos. Maybe I could get some McDonald's logos to top it off.

I would keep the upgrades simple if your going to do any...
I agree with the others that say paint anything that may be faded. take your time and do it right. At least that's low cost and will brighten it up a bit.
Maybe add some value to the truck.
Otherwise stick to mods that you can use on your next ride like a HU, off road lights etc...
Tints are nice as welll and not to costly. Also depending what your wheels look like you could paint those or safe to have them powder coated.

I dont like the logos much either but to each their own. I know people that dont like lifts, rims, exhaust systems or trucks.
To the OP, I say only do cheap mods that can carryover to ANY vehicle and you'll be good. Like we would say at the track, have fun but keep the rubber side down.

Plus those people are either stupid or jealous.
What would you think if somebody put a big Chevy bow tie across the rear window of their Ford?

...besides, you could use your stock radio for an ice chest boom box if you go to a college that is near a body of water.

I understand what you mean by upgrades that can move to my next truck. I'm keeping this truck through college though. It only has 32,000 miles on it. I'm not going too far for college either. LSU is about an hour away-2,3 hours with traffic.
Glad to see you "play for keeps", "boss."

Joe, don't listen to NCSU. He likes to tell people how to run their lives.

If you want to upgrade your truck go for it. You can always take the upgrades off later and put them on your newer truck or sell them.
Just remember that I know more than NCSU (which isn't saying a whole lot).....
