NCSU's HID Retrofit Headlights...

A little while ago I ordered a set of retrofit HIDs from www.sickhids.com after seeing another member post about the lights he got.

Here are a few teasers... It'll be a week or so until I can get pics of them installed.

I sent out my old chrome stock headlights to save a few bucks. Needless to say, I wanted them blacked out. Here they are sandblasted and being prepped for paint:

and painted:

I also wanted the side reflector to be blacked out as well:

Reflector installed:

Now, some finished product shots. I just got these these last night, hopefully he'll have them shipped out today or tomorrow, so like I said, I'll have them installed in a week or so and will post more pics at that point.

Here's everything turned off:

Side shot:

Angel Eyes:

Devil Eyes (I plan on wiring them in with the amber parking lights / turn signals):

Can't wait to get them on the truck!

Thanks man. I wanted to use orange so it matches the parking lights. Brian at www.sickhids.com did all the work. Tell him Steve sent ya!

Indeed, so far I'm very pleased with how everything's been going. I'm currently in the planning phases of retrofitting my fogs. Hopefully Brian and I can come up with something that works and looks great!

Thank you for going the proper route with HIDs and not just dropping a chinese conversion kit in the stockers. I wish more people looking at HIDs would do the retro-fit. Nice stuff!

innocent question here: would it of been possible to have had the projector housing blacked out so the chrome wouldnt stand out so much from the side?

Finally!!!! I've been waiting to see someone do this for so long, this is the exact route I want to go. Make sure to post up a ton of output and cutoff pictures once you get them.

Don't see why not since it's just the shroud. There's also different styles of shrouds...

NCSU would have to say what projector was used by Brian, since the cutoff and spread can vary greatly between projectors. I guess bi-xenon. Is it an FX-R? If I ever get the money, I wanna do quad FX-R

Yes, I could have had the projector blacked out, but that would have required more time and money. Right now, I didn't think it would be worth it. If I ever decide to change the heads again (or get a new truck), I might get everything blacked out at that point.

They are bi-xenon, but I don't know what projector he used. I'll try and find out.

Looks amazing, if it didn't cost $400 plus the work of painting the housings yourself, I'd be right behind you. I wouldn't to the angel eyes myself though, never been that big of a fan of them.

$400?

Is that the total cost? Not bad considering other retrofitters...
I like the work done by www.lightwerkz.net however they are more expensive
