Tinting

I have an appotiment tomarrow afternoon to get my front 2 windows tinted but i havent decided on which precent. Here in SD 35% is the limit but its loosly enforced. So its either 35% which seems to light or 20% which is a little bit illegal but many people have it. Since i dont live in a big town the cops dont have tint guns or anything like that. So what are the Pros and Cons of each tint? also if i was to get pulled over for speeding or something and they saw i had 20% do you thing they would make me take it off or a ticket.

I'd go with 20%. If you get 35% you will wish you went darker.

I debated on the same thing about a month ago. I ended up going with 20% to match. I could not be happier. At first I was worried with every cop I saw but now I don't even pay attention when they pull up beside me. Definitely go for the darker tint.

I got 15 to match the back windows and I like it but I was also stationed in Florida for a long time where they did not enforce it because its so dang hot down there.

Whatever you do, dont go 35 its a waste of money IMO and your gonna wish you went darker. Its not even worth tinting if your gonna get 35.

As for the cops making you take it off. As long as you dont do anything to get pulled over in the first place you wont get pulled over for tint alone (99% of the time anyway)

And for the cop making you take it off it all depends on how big of a **** he feels like being for the day. He could make you take it off with a fix it ticket, Nail you with the full blown tint ticket 150 bucks in Florida I dont know what it is there, Or just not even say anything about it. But its all on how he feels

thats how ive been feeling the past few days that 35 is a waste of money. When i talked to the dealer he said he would do 20 but i have to sign a wavier saying i knew the legal limit and i decided to go darker, has anyone else heard of that. My friends dad is a deputiy Sheriff and he has a 2008 Dodge Magnum with a 6.1 hemi and he has 15% all the way around so i think i'll be safe with 20%. does anyone know if they make a 25% or 30% tint of does it go 35%, 20%, and 5%

I don't think tint tickets are that much anyways. I think they are just like $15-30 fines. As well as if you do get pulled over roll down your windows before they approach the car because they feel threatened by it if you don't which if you do so they will be more lean-lent(sp?) I'm debating on whether or not to get my front window tinted with a dark brow.

Typically they just make you pay cash and don't write up a bill of sale. It's like you never came in and that way they don't have any kind of paper trail. I'd rather not have my named signed to something saying I know what I'm doing is illegal. I suppose if the police ever have an issue with him doing illegal tint he can always throw those papers out and try to get the people who signed to take the fall rather than him. I'd find someone who would do it under the table.

Here where I'm at the legal limit is 35%. I ran 15% for 2 yrs. Got pulled over maybe twice for the tint. They never made me pull the tint off, I just paid the ticket. Can't remember the exact number but it was in the $75-100 dollar range. The only thing you'll have to worry about is passing inspection every year with the tint on.

I have 20% and just got a warning the other day. I love having them dark durring the day, but at night its kind of a pain to back up. Thank god for back up sensors!! IMO go with either. I don't think there is a big enough advantage when compared one vs. the other.

You should feel lucky with the 35% there, its 50% front and 35% in the back here in VA. And around here they make you sign a "waiver" that you wont sue them if you get a ticket.

PA law is 35% max, I have 20% all around. Wish I went with 15% sometimes.
