All of the police cars in NE Fla have illegal tint. I don't see how they could write a ticket for tint.

b.c they have it for their safety people are always trying to find out what cops are doing so they could hurt them. Plus cops need to be sneaky sometimes.

Mines 15% in the front and 1% all the way around the back and don't regret it at all. IMO its perfect still light enough to see out of the side windows at night without rolling them down, but dark enough to hide behind, and have a little privacy.

no, if i was to get pulled over for speeding or something else they will give you a ticket and make you take it off but im not sure where or how. I had a friend with limo tint all the way around and they pulled him over for speeding and impounded the truck untill he paid to have it taken off

Yeah, if I met one, I rarely turned on it just for the tint ticket unless traffic really light and they were easy to get to .... but if I already had them stopped at a checking detail or for speeding or something else .... or if I found myself going their way anyway ..... it was an easy ticket.

Just saying .........

Police cars are exempt from that law...along with tow trucks, limos, and some others....and people with doctors notes. At least in va anyway.

I had a buddy get pulled over for his 5% tint. The cop actually took a razor blade and cut the tint right in front of him. Not cool.

Ive heard of this happening. That sucks if it does. I dont think they should be able to do that. Its destruction of personal property.

But to the guy that has 1% all the way around and 15 on front. How do you back up at night man! thats some dark crap lol

I would of definitely taken him to court for destruction of property and seeing if I could get a few more accusations under the belt as well. One thing I don't take politely to is messing with other peoples vehicles.

here's my advice...i used to tint cars back in the day.....now i just let someone else do it. first, don't let the ford dealer do it. believe me, you are paying good money for crap. we used to tint for dealers all the time and we had to buy special "cheap" tint for them. they paid about $20 less than what the same car would cost a normal customer. but i have seen them charge $350 for 2 doors on a convertable miata. go take it to a shop and cut the middle man.

insist on llumar tint. why? because it has metalized flakes. you don't see them. the metalized flakes is what reflects the heat. you don't want a tint that used a dye. i have used llumar for years. it never turns purple, never bubbles, never peels, etc. you might pay a little extra, but it is worth it. it is a high performance film. you DO NOT want to pay to remove bad tint. it is hard as hell to remove because of the terrible glue.

as far as percentage, go with 20%. i have used it for years here in tx with no problems. the factory back glass is 20%. i have mine done with 5% over the factory tint and then 20% on the front 2 windows. then i have a 5% put on the top portion of the windshield (so i don't have to use my sun visor).

you get what you pay for though. stay away from the dealer and take care of it yourself. if you don't believe me, call around and check for yourself. most of the time, the price you see advertised is the cheap tint. insist on the top quality. you will be glad that you did. good luck.

I have lumar tint on my Mustang and my F150. GREAT tint. And I paid 60 bucks for the front two windows with 15. Would have been 50 bucks if I went legal. Not bad IMO tho
