Frustration sets in

Always seems like whatever things I do to my truck, nothing works out perfectly. I ordered the lightning heads and corners on Ebay. When I got the items, one of the bars that goes into the assembly was broken. Seller said he would send a new unit. But thats not the end of it. The locking mechanism on my HIDS didnt fit over his headlights. He sent other locking mechanisms with the halogens included with the headlights, but those didnt fit over my HIDs.

For those of you who have a 97-03 trucks WITH HIDS, where did you order your lightning headlights from? Did you use the locking mechanism that was included with the HID kit to lock into the new headlights, or are you using the stock locking piece with your HIDS, and do those fit with lightning heads?

how different is the bulb housing on your hids from stock ones?? i know my sister has hids on her truck and i dont remember them being that different from stock. (she has the stx heads which are just like harley heads minus the amber strip)

im pretty sure i ended up swapping the locking ring that my hids came with for the ones that my headlights originally came with

i also think i switched the o-ring out on the hid bulb itself cus it was too big to even fit correctly

The stock locking piece fit with my hids and stock heads, but not with the lightning heads. The lock that was included with the heads would not fit with my hid bulbs. That's what I'm frustrated about.

I have DEPO Lighting heads, bought from latemodelrestoration.com, and DDM 55w HID's. I used the locking ring that came with the heads, but I had to trim the locating tabs for the HID bulbs to fit into the heads.
Sorry you can't tell form my sig, it's an old pic.

That seems like a pain? There's no direct fits where's there's no trimming?

Update: I was just doing something wrong. The locking clip went into the headlight first, then the hid bulb lock, then the bulb into that. Looks sweet! I'll attatch pictures later but I also added clear clear corners. 10000% difference. Only issue is the Driver headlight is broken on 1 clip, but the guy is sending me a new one. The other one just wiggles a bit. Also with the corner lamps, they is a screw that goes in on top of the headlamp near the fender, but on this new set, the holes in not threaded. It's more of a pre cautionary, but I'll have to attatch a nut instead. Just waiting for. Few hrs to see how the lights are. Hoping that the cut out the glare that the others did
