Frustration sets in
Honestly, dont let this thread discourage you. HIDS are awesome. I just am never pleased with anything i do, and i give up too easily. Everything was good when I had the stock heads, besides a little glare, but that didnt bug me very much. The lightning heads are badass looking, but they just need to be adjusted. When they are, my setup will be good. Also, realize that almost everything made today and is supposed to be "direct fit", ends up having to be fabricated. Nothing is perfect because it is made in Japan, China, and Taiwan, and not to factory spec.

Measure the center of the beams to make sure the distance between them is the same as the distance bwteen the center of the bulbs on your headlight housings.
Don't be deterred from getting HIDs. I'm going to invest in some again but for my stock headlamps. The only time you should worry about adjusting your lights is if you lift or level your truck (with drop shackles or lifting spacers) which increases the degree of your beam. If your truck is stock, throw in some xenon lights and you're ready to run.
Well if you're gonna smoke your headlights, it would be a good idea to get HIDs. I don't know about where you live, but it's not legal in Vegas because people make their really dark and the lights don't shine or reflect.

yeah, its awesome
normally you have to take your heads out, adjust them a little, and then put them back in and see if you adjusted them right.
that tool lets you leave the heads in, and it turns the adjusting screws from behind the header panel
