i need a new bumper!!

Today on my way home from work i slowly rolled into a truck in front of me. The truck had a reciever with the ball still on it and it went into the metal lower portion of the front bumper. I went to a body shop and was given an estimate of $645. Is there something out there that is nice but not too flashy. What are some comments..

let's be realistic, it's 2yrs old, not 11 not many auto salvages have many 07 bumpers and if they do they don't wanna separate them. you might as well buy a new one and have it painted. if you do the labor, probably 125 for paint and 300 for a bumper from the dealer. red paint isn't cheap.

raptor gave an answer. there are other yards (maybe not the local pick & pull), but there are yards that have late model parts. it may not be a 97-03 body where you can find parts pretty easy. but it's not right off the show room floor either. do some searching & im sure you can find something, even if it is an aftermarket upgrade.

awww don't give a stupid reply to a guys question. the guy ain't gonna spray paint it, you couldn't even buy a 1/2 a pint of red paint for 50 bucks. the guy went to a bodyshop, so he's not gonna paint it himself. its not 1980, junk yards are now auto salvages/auto recyclers. yards don't separate good bumper assemblies, they ain't stupid. make sure to buy oem too, aftermarket bumpers are garbage IMO, cheap price and cheaper quality. keep an eye out on ebay, occasionally you see a 06-08 front bumper on there for a decent price.

odds of finding a 06 +bumper, in decent condition, in a junkyard for $50-100 is a lil unrealistic. atleast me my area...... lol

cheapest i ve seen 06+ bumpers were on ebay, for about $200+ used and they were all chrome.

like knighj1 said , its prolly cheaper/easier just get the right color from tasca and get it new

Or better yet...an 04-05 lower bumper with the cooler rectangular foglights. Of course, then you have to replace the foglights too!

Browse ebay, and search your local salvage yards. I'm probably going to buy 2007 FX4 wheels from a truck in the salvage yard. Theres no law tha salvage yards have old stuff only.

the yards up here are absolutely nuts. most of the time, they want more for used parts than i what i can buy new parts for.

i just wanted to say thank you for the help. i called tasca and they were around the same price for the bumper. so what do you all think that it should cost for paint and materials? the body shop said around 300 for paint and materials. does that sound right?

that's alot IMO, i just got quoted 125 for painting my bumper, that's me taking it off and bringing it in. i would say under 200 bucks, is a deal, red paint is the most costly. you could probably get it powdercoated for almost the same price. find a place that mixes there own paint, some shops up here buy paint from the dealer for newer cars, they price themselves too high compared to others
