Windsheild Tint.
hey 35% is legal here in Missouri and that's what I have.... But I can see huge difference from my factory tint in the back... Do you all think i'd get pulled over with 20 on my front two windows to match my back 3? (screw) That's what the guy suggested when I got the 35% done.... I should have listened.
Also, a tint ticket isn't reported to the insurance people right? It's just a fine?
Thanks for the help... Sorry for stealing this thread. :S

I'm pretty sure this is correct, but don't hold me to it. Tint ticket would be just a fine unless you remove your tint and show proof. If you remove it I'm pretty sure the fine is dropped. It's just a fix-it ticket.
I'd suggest getting 15% on the fronts. The front windshield lets in a lot of light so the front windows appear lighter than the rears. The rears are at 18%, so if you go 20% it will still look a little bit lighter. I have 15% on my fronts and in certain conditions it still looks a little lighter than the rears. I doubt you'll have any trouble with 15% on the fronts. 5% would be quite a different story, though. It all comes down to whether or not you want to risk it. I put on 15% and was close to doing 5% over that, but decided against it. I've had absolutely no trouble with the 15%.

alright... That looks really good. I'm just really debating whether or not to risk getting pulled over and everything.. Sooo many people have illegal tent I doubt it would matter... Idk tho. Haha thanks for the help mblouir.
well after weeks of night driving, and my first thunderstorm all is well. the driving at night is ok. and i am completely sure that if i wouldve got a 50% on the front window i would not have been happy. also i wear glasses and even without them the visability is still good. hope this helps anyone with doubts!
got 50% on my windshield and a 5% drop with 5% over factory tint on back and back sides of my supercrew. and it looks awsome. because of the 5% over the back it looks even darker. no visibility issues
I have had limo all the way around with 35% on the windshield on every vehicle I have owned. I have been pulled over once in 16 years for the tint. In Michigan it is illegal to have tint on the front side windows and windshield. The only way around this is to have a letter from you eye doctor stating that you need tinted windows because of your vision. That letter then needs to be sent to the DMV and a restriction is put on your license stating that you can only drive that vehicle with the tinted windows. If you are pulled over driving a vehicle without tinted windows you will get a ticket. I have had a letter form my eye doctor for about 11 years and have not sent it into the DMV. I have been pretty lucky.
On my old truck, I had 35% all over the front windshield + another 20% strip at the top (on top of the stock strip that's there) to make it look like I didn't quite tint the entire windshield. You definitely couldn't see past the dash from outside, but driving was fine (including at night).

About 10 years ago a guy I knew put limo tint on his windshield and then cut a 6" wide horizontal strip out of that so that he could see to drive at night. It was the funniest thing ever to see him driving because you could tell he was having a hard time, but I guess he thought it looked cool.
I got my SCREW's front door windows tinted to match the back door windows, and a dark strip across the top of the windshield. Sometimes I wish it was all a little darker, but it's very hard to see into the truck as is and I wouldn't want it any harder to see the perimeter of my truck from the inside. The only ticket for tint that I have ever received was on my Mustang when I lived in Alabama. I had 15% on everything but the windshield and could see out just fine, but the cop brought out his little light meter and said I could either take it off or pay the fine. I took it off and put 35% back on...it didn't look near as good, but it kept the cops off my **** until I moved out of state.

50% on the windshield is hardly even noticeable with the 5% sun strip. My strip doesn't extend as low on the windshield as yours though...mine is only about half the distance down as yours.
wow man that tint strip is LOW... haha. looks good! have any pics of it from the outside? im curious how one that big looks!
